Core functionality • An addressable 256 LED spoke mounted strip driven by a small micro-controller (ESP32, Arduino-compatible, or similar) and powered by a lightweight, wheel-mounted battery. • Firmware that stores and renders static bitmaps in correct perspective as the wheel spins, synchronizing via hall-effect or magnet sensor. • A simple phone app that lets the rider pick any image, crop it to a wheel-friendly template, and wirelessly push it to the controller. There is no fixed library; the user must be free to upload whichever picture they like. Threshold speed can be experimented with. Below that threshold, the LEDs can remain off or show a neutral pattern to save power.
