The project is aimed at animating a flow chart diagram used as a teaching aid by teachers to teach a concept. In this case Industrial manufacture of Sulphuric acid using WS2812 rgb leds.
The leds are embeded on top of a canvas (see Attached Image) so that the learners' attention is held by the moving(reacting) leds which change colour as per the expcted effect.
A lot of ground work has already been done and programing of the animation using arduino nano.
What I need is better,clean and less bulky code using Fastled because that's what am more comfortable in unlike Adafruit (see the code attached)

I want to improve it further by adding a voice over as the animation run, incase the leaner wants to use it in the absence of the teacher.
I also have a LCD (1602) module which would display the chemical process at a particular stage ( chemical equation)
The led connection has 10 stages packaged as 5 strips and 5 matrices.
1st stage is one strip containing 16 leds that have been curved as inverted letter C in a way half chases yellow and the other blue.
on stages where there are matrices i want to animate good reaction process, where the leds represent the molecules or atoms. I stage two for example the two materials Sulphur(Yellow) react with oxygen(blue) to gradually change to green.
