$10 USD / hour
*** OVERVIEW ***
- This project is still available as of 9 September 2019.
- Ten US dollars per hour.
- One hour per day (or per night).
- You will help me design, code, and develop an IoT product using MicroPython running on an ESP32 microchip.
- You do *not* need any experience with microcontrollers, electronics, electrical engineering, mechatronics, Arduino, PCB, circuit design, or Python.
- You can avoid “spending” one of your Freelancer bids by applying "passively” for this project by pasting "MicroPython_ESP32_6_September_2019" into your Freelancer profile.
*** LOCATION ***
You must live the Western Balkans...
Bosnia and Herzegovina, or Serbia, or Montenegro, or Kosovo, or Macedonia, or Albania.
*** RATE ***
I will pay you $10 (ten US dollars per hour) on Freelancer.com. However, normally Freelancer.com takes a 10% commission. Therefore, I expect you will be receive $9 per hour (nine US dollars per hour).
*** HOURS ***
You must work *one hour* per day, five days (or nights) per week.
For example, I would allow you to choose to work one hour on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
*** EXPERIENCE ***
I do not care about your experience. Rather, I am interested in your ability to solve difficult problems creatively, efficiently, and effectively.
In other words, I don't care if you have any experience with Python, nor with MicroPython, nor do with the ESP32 microcontroller. However, I do care if you are very intelligent, very creative, and very good at solving challenging engineering problems.
*** PROJECT DETAILS ***
You will help me transform my functional specification into a technical specification. Then I will purchase two ESP32 development boards (and two breadboards, and two sets of sensors, etcetera) to help you when you are debugging.
Please imagine the following hypothetical chat between you and I...
You: "I think the ESP32 development board you bought for me on AliExpress is bad!"
Me: "Do you think both of them bad?"
You: "Oh. Ummm. Well, actually... I replicated the problem on both of the ESP32 development boards. I found a bug in my code. Sorry."
Me: "I am glad I bought two ESP32 development boards for you."
You: "Yes. That was a good idea."
In my experience, when engineers encounter a vexing problem they tend to blame an external factor. Also, of course, cheap electronics purchased on AliExpress often have flaws.
*** WHY WILL I PAY YOU HOURLY? ***
By paying you hourly and limiting the number of hours you work at a time, I would be able to avoid the need to create detailed specifications for you because I would be able to regularly check on the work you were doing for me.
In theory detailed project requirements with milestone payments seem sensible. But I have found in practice they are actually not usually feasible. In my experience, detailed project requirements with milestone payments typically lead to misunderstandings, resentment and discord.
*** YOU CAN AVOID “SPENDING” ONE OF YOUR FREELANCER BIDS ***
If you intend to bid on this project the "normal way" please ignore this section entirely.
Of course you can apply for this job the “normal way.” However, to avoid “spending” one of your Freelancer bids you can “apply passively” by copying and pasting the following code:
MicroPython_ESP32_6_September_2019
into your Freelancer profile.
If this job posting is active, I intend to search for freelancers with the search text:
MicroPython_ESP32_6_September_2019
in their Freelancer profile every few days. If I were to find your profile and if your profile were to indicate that you live in one of the countries indicated above, then I would invite you to bid on this project.
Dear, I'm mechanical engineer from Bosnia and Herzegovina and I have big experience in similar job. I have excellent problem solving skills and too I'm Mensa member.
Best regards.
Hello, I am from Bosnia. I have very creative solutions for various problems. On top of that I have a bit of experience with Arduino, and I've been coding in Python for about two years. I am able and willing to work even the hardest tasks you can give me. I am hoping you will contact me.
Hello, I am from Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am a very creative person and someone who has a solution for all sort of problems. I have experience when it comes to HTML, CSS and Python. I am a hard worker , super consistent and never disappoint.
Hi There,
I like the way you though this trough, I don't have formal knowledge in electronics, but I always loved watching YouTube videos of robots, protoboards, Arduino programming and small components. For many years it was my hobby, to make small electronic projects, combined with knowledge from Youtube, I gained some basic knowledge, and now I can find, purchase any component, find its technical sheet and know how it works. I think of this project as a new challenge for me, because I love problem solving!
Looking forward to collaborate.
Sincerely, Imran.
Hi!
I'm interested in this offer.
As you said already, you don't need someone with experience and I don't have that in MicroPython or ESP32 chip but I'm engineering enthusiast and been working in Software Development for almost 9 years. Please consider me for this project because this would be something that I'd like to do and not many offers come along in this area with this concrete technology. Also I would be focused in getting the result and to get practice in this area as well!
Best Regards
Hello I live in Bosnia and Hercegovina but right now I am in Slovenia because i am Study computer science here in Kopar. I would love to work with you on this project. Let me know if you are interested.
Hello.
I'm an experienced developer from Bosnia and Herzegovina. I've been working with the microcontrollers (mostly Atmel & PIC) for a long time using C language. I didn't work with Python much, but the script programming and OOP paradigms are familiar to me.
Please feel free to contact me if needed.
