The task is to modify the PX4 flight controller ([login to view URL]) flight stack code and/or middleware to allow for individual control of up to 12 servo motors for a multi-copter. The final configuration should be capable of allowing for stable high-performance flight. Further the code should be modified to allow for an ideally indefinite number of servos to be used, with a target value of 24 individual servos being used to achieve stable flight.
The project would be considered complete at proof of the modified code being able to handle the 12 motors to the same accuracy and response time as for the 8 servo outputs natively supported by the PX4 firmware, and the new code being uploaded to the flight controller board and validated in flight. The 24 motor configuration should also handle to a degree not significantly less performing than the 12 motor configuration, with proof being required that all of the servos for the 24 motor configuration have an accuracy and response time not significantly less than that of the native 8 motor configuration and adequate for use with a multicopter.
You would be working with the Pixhawk 2.1 "The Cube" flight controller board with the PX4 firmware. Payment would be made at completion of project.
