These days we are filled with Doctors and Engineers who struggle to sustain or even get into a job. Not all the MBBS graduate is able to practice their profession, unless they do their specialization, go abroad for a certification, extra, extra. I think it is good to participate with other states for the NEET. Although the exam is being regulated or monitored by the Central Board of Secondary Education, the syllabus for this exam is as per the Medical Council of India (declared by Supreme Court of India). Since the competition is between students of different states, the probability of an obvious increase in the effectiveness and studying pattern of the students who pursue medical science will be more positive. The total seats provided through NEET are approximately 54000 which is a good number for the 13-14% who is keen in studying Medicine. In short run, the decision of exempting the state from such National test may help in more number of admissions to the course. If we look at the long-term future, medicine being a field which needs more expertise with strong conceptual knowledge and analytical skills and the need of eradicating the educational disparity between students of Tamilnadu with other states, are the main reasons to support NEET.
