I want to create a single sign on between a Wordpress site and an ASP.NET web app, where users are cloned from the Wordpress site to the ASP.NET site, which will be on a subdomain of the Wordpress site.
The ASP.NET site has this type of SSO functionality built-in, so long as the other site is also ASP.NET, but since Wordpress is PHP, I need some sort of workaround solution.
Here are the instructions to setup SSO between two ASP.NET sites using this ASP.NET web app's built-in SSO functionality: [login to view URL]
Here is a description of what is possible with the built-in SSO functionality of the ASP.NET web app: [login to view URL]
And here is some technical documentation of the methods used to accomplish the SSO using the built-in functionality of the ASP.NET web app. Check out the GetSignInCookieInfo Method section on this page:
I need a workaround solution, so that I can create an SSO between the ASP.NET app and my Wordpress site. I think if we can set an authcookie when customers register/login on WP, then we can use the GetSignInCookieInfo Method mentioned above in order to accomplish SSO and account creation.
All registration will be done through Wordpress. Then those accounts will be cloned to the ASP.NET site, and users will be automatically logged into their ASP.NET account if they are already logged into their Wordpress account.
This ASP.NET web app also has an API, which lets you create and update users: [login to view URL] which I think will need to be used in order to sync the accounts between Wordpress and ASP.NET app, because if accounts are updated i.e. name, email etc. I want the corresponding account also updated on the other site.
