A friendly wizard based front end would allow even first time users with little or no payroll experience to set-up their own company and payrolls. The user would select the country in which the payroll is run and by default all of the statutory requirements of that country would be linked to the new payroll.

The client’s banking information or credit card details would be loaded into the system. All payroll cost to company and processing fees would be automatically drawn from this account in future payroll runs.

The wizard would have default templates for various industries with built in earnings, deductions, company contributions, leave and bargaining council modules.

The wizard would also guide the user through the payment cycle set-up (weekly, monthly etc.) and also the creation of the required calendars.

The various users of the system and their passwords and access rights would be entered by the client. This would allow a client to have a payroll clerk handling all the regular salaries but not being able to see the executive salaries for example.

The system would guide the user through the setting up of packaging structuring based on a total cost to company model or other packages specific to the user’s company.

The system would also have a built in 3rd party creditor list with their relevant banking details, payment cycles and remittance formats built into the system. This is particularly useful for Garnishees and Loan repayments and the control thereof.

Once the payroll has been set-up, a wizard will guide the user through the branch and cost centre set-up of the company.

There after the leave rules and provisions would be set-up using a wizard which prompts the user through the set-up of annual leave, sick leave, family responsibility leave, study leave etc. The basic conditions of employment rules would be used by default, but the user would be able to adjust these settings.

As a last step, the user is guided through the set-up of the payroll General Ledger Journal. A list of known financial systems would be supplied. The user’s company chart of accounts is loaded against the earnings, deductions, company contributions and provision entries.

When the user clicks finish, the payroll is set-up. A payroll set-up document is printed along with a guide for the user re the statutory requirements and best practise principals of payroll.

Absolutely no technical assistance would be required and the vision is that the system would be used on a 24x7 basis from anywhere in the world with internet access.
