I was working with the Department of Public Works and Highways in our country as project engineer in various projects, roads, drainage, shore protection, school buildings, multi-purpose building, bridges..etc., my short construction methodology are as follows; 1. A survey should be conducted to be precise of the project limits and contours. 2. Layout will be conducted in preparation for the sub-base and base coarse aggregates, any downgrade area should be filled to attain the specifications of the design. 3. After all cuts and fills are accomplished, a sub-grade aggregates will be spread on the area to be cemented, in which a compaction will be conducted to attain a 95% to 100% compaction. 4. After the compaction of the sub-grade is attained, a base coarse aggregates will be spread, depending on the specified thickness, and compaction will be conducted to attain the 95% to 100% compaction. 5, A field density test will be conducted, to assure the base aggregates are fully compacted and are ready for concrete pouring, this will depend on the design of the concrete and thickness. 6. A mock-up will be conducted in the project area, and a concrete cylinder will be made for compression test on specified number of days. 7. If the concrete requires for a reinforcing bars, a design will be submitted with the bar sizes. But with the construction joints, it is required to install reinforcing bars to connect the concrete with maximum adhesiveness.
