Hi — happy to take this on. Your brief is short, so rather than guess at a number I'll tell you how I'd approach it and what I need to pin down. Approach: map who can do what today against what you want, then implement each rule in the right layer. Zoho Books has native roles, permissions and approval flows for invoices, bills, expenses and purchase orders — I'd use those wherever they reach, and only drop to custom functions (Deluge) or the API for the rules they can't express. Scripts that reimplement something native are the ones that quietly break on the next Zoho update, so I'd rather keep them to a minimum and document exactly which rule lives where. Three questions so I can be precise: 1. Which documents need approval — invoices, bills, POs, expenses, journals? Single approver, or multi-level with value thresholds? 2. Which operations do you want restricted, and for whom? Typical ones are stopping staff from editing or deleting a posted invoice, changing prices, or backdating entries. 3. Zoho Books standalone, or is CRM/Inventory/Creator also in the mix? If they're connected, the restrictions have to hold on that side too or people just route around them.
