The goal of this first build is simple: stream real-time acceleration and GPS data (plus basic battery status) over Bluetooth in clean JSON so I can inspect it from any phone or lightweight test interface. Scope of work • Assemble or spec a compact hardware stack that fits safely inside a horse boot. • Write ESP32 firmware to read the accelerometer and gyroscope, combine it with GPS fixes, and send the packet as JSON over BLE. • Expose a characteristic I can view in nRF Connect, LightBlue, or a quick web demo—you don’t have to build a full app. • Include basic power management so the Li-Po lasts through a training session and reports its voltage in the same JSON object. • Provide clear wiring, BOM, and enclosure suggestions so I can reproduce the build or hand it off for enclosure design. Acceptance criteria 1. When powered on, the device advertises over BLE and streams JSON objects containing timestamp, XYZ acceleration, XYZ rotation, latitude, longitude, and battery voltage at a steady rate I can configure in code. 2. Data is visible in any generic BLE scanner without extra tooling. 3. All repository files (schematics, firmware source, and a brief assembly guide) are delivered and build without errors in the Arduino IDE or PlatformIO. If you have prior experience with ESP32 BLE or animal-wearable designs, that will help us move fast, but I’m open to any efficient approach as long as it meets the above deliverables.
