LOGO & ICON DESIGN CONTEST Keep in Prayer · [login to view URL] · Prayer Companion App ABOUT THE PROJECT Keep in Prayer is a free, modern prayer companion app — a PWA (installable on any device) where users keep a personal list of the people and situations they are praying for. Think of it as a prayer journal that lives on your phone, always at hand, beautifully simple. The app is built for the evangelical and broadly Protestant Christian community — people who say "I'll keep you in prayer," who maintain a prayer list, and who want a quiet, personal space to carry the people they love before God. "Hold them in prayer" — not a task manager, not a social network. A personal, devotional space to pray faithfully and record how God answers. WHAT WE NEED We are looking for two related deliverables: 1. App icon — Square format, works at small sizes (as small as 48×48px), suitable for home screen installation on iOS and Android. Must read clearly at a glance. 2. Full logo — Icon paired with the wordmark "Keep in Prayer" — suitable for use in the app header, website, and promotional materials. Deliverables should be provided in SVG and PNG (transparent background), minimum 1024×1024px for the icon. DESIGN DIRECTION We want something that feels modern, warm, and personal. This app lives on people's phones alongside Spotify, Instagram, and their banking app — it needs to feel at home there while still carrying a sense of quiet faith and intention. The aesthetic we are drawn to: - Clean and contemporary — this is a modern product, not a hymnal - Warm and human — approachable, personal, not institutional - Quietly faithful — the faith dimension should feel natural, not preachy - Distinctive — something that stands out on a home screen - Scalable — the icon must be immediately readable at 48×48px Visual directions worth exploring: - A single expressive symbol — hands, light, a flame, a leaf, a simple abstract mark - Wordmark-forward — "Keep in Prayer" as a beautiful typographic treatment - A monogram or lettermark — K, KP, or a creative combination - An abstract mark that evokes warmth, care, or holding COLOR PALETTE GUIDANCE Modern, warm, and inviting. Some directions to explore: - Warm blues and soft whites — calm, clear, trustworthy - Earthy greens and creams — natural, grounded, organic - Warm amber and off-white — golden, hopeful, glowing - Soft coral and warm neutrals — human, relational, approachable Whatever direction you choose, the palette should feel: - Contemporary — at home on a modern smartphone - Warm — never cold, sterile, or corporate - Hopeful — light and uplifting - Distinctive — ownable and memorable Avoid: neon, heavy gradients that look dated, anything that reads as generic "tech startup" blue, overly dark palettes, or religious clipart aesthetics. WHAT TO AVOID - Generic prayer hands clipart - Literal cross icons that feel like clipart - Overly ornate or vintage religious aesthetics - Drop shadows, lens flares, bevels, or 3D effects - Anything that feels like it belongs on a church bulletin from 2005 - Generic app icon aesthetics with no personality WORDMARK NOTES "Keep in Prayer" is three short, punchy words — this is a gift for a designer. Some directions: - All three words stacked, equal weight - "Keep" and "Prayer" bold, "in" lighter — creating a rhythm - A single-line horizontal lockup - "Keep in Prayer" with a short tagline below such as "Hold them in prayer" or "Your personal prayer list" Typography can go serif or sans-serif — both work depending on the overall concept. A warm humanist sans-serif (think: friendly, modern, approachable) or a clean contemporary serif both fit. Avoid anything too geometric or cold. Comfortable with contemporary worship and modern design. Secondary: Any Christian who keeps a prayer list and wants a clean, simple, beautiful space to do so.
