THIS PROJECT IS FOR A SINGLE STOREY FLOORPLAN.

ANOTHER PROJECT WILL BE AWARDED TO THE WINNER TO DESIGN THE HOUSE IN 3D.

IF ANYONE WANTS TO ADD 3D IMAGES TO ADD PART OF THIS TO ADD CONTEXT AND IMPROVE CHANCES OF WINNING WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM.

WE ENJOY LAYER OF DETAIL, COLOUR AND TEXTURES.

WE WANT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE NORTHERLY ASPECT AND HAVE SUN ON THE POOL ALL DAY. THE NORTH DIRECTION CAN BE SEEN ON THE LINE DRAWING SITE PLAN.

We have bought a property to knock down the existing building and build a new home.

Consisting of an expansive area to the rear, we intend to build a 4 bed home on this back block and a smaller 2 bed home on the front thin block in the position where the current house is.

Main Home - Back large plot - Things we need

Pool

Pool fence as per Aus law

We enjoy high ceilings and would like areas of the build to be 4 to 5 m high.

We must pay attention to neighbours to the left and right of the long thin section of the plot and not build too high to obstruct their sunlight

Kitchen with 4 -5 m island bar to sit stools at

Butlers pantry behind the kitchen

Laundry with storage.

Access to outdoor area with clothes lines for drying

Master bed opening to the pool area

Master bedroom to have walk-in robes and ensuite with bath and shower

2 bedrooms with built-in wardrobes and ensuite shower and toilet

1 spare bedroom

Large living space of at least 5 x 6 m, this should be high ceilings

Large dining area adjoined to the kitchen area.

Toilet for main area of house

Large black steel look aluminium doors will be used to connect the inside and outside of the home.

We may use bifold doors to open up large areas or use more classic doors to open individual areas, see pictures for examples.

Light concrete floors are an option.

Nice to have for main building but not essential

Dark home theatre room of approx 16 square meters

Music and games room of approx 12-15 square meters

Second smaller home in thin front section

5m wide

must have car access down the side for access to main home at the back plot

As you can see, we have already made a drawing of a layout.

This is done by me and I have no design or architect background.

We want an architecturally interesting and beautiful home, adding boxes as rooms is easy, we need to gat a layout that is more exciting and keep an eye of affordable build, finishes etc.

The house will be built using timber frames and not brick.

We would like a brick feature wall inside.
