Indian Chem/Pharma Open-Source Trade Analyst

Job Posting: Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) and Trade Data Analyst (India Chemical/Pharmaceutical Sector) Project Overview: We are conducting an in-depth research project on the Indian chemical and pharmaceutical export industry. The focus of this project is to map global supply chains for specific categories of chemical products using open-source data. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) and Trade Data Analyst to assist with the India-focused component of our research. This is a remote position that requires a high degree of discretion and professionalism. Key Responsibilities: ●Conduct in-depth due diligence on target companies using the Indian Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) portal and other public registries, verifying registration details, board members, and financial statements. ●Utilize specialized international trade databases (e.g., Zauba, Panjiva, Import Genius) to track shipping records of specific chemical products originating from India. ●Analyze export data to identify patterns and "red flags", such as: ○Vague cargo descriptions (e.g., "Organic Chemical Intermediates"). ○Shipments to high-risk or atypical destinations. ○Consignments from small or newly established companies to suspicious consignees. ●Synthesize all collected information into well-structured, evidence-backed reports. Required Qualifications: ●Proven experience in Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), business intelligence, or investigative journalism, with a portfolio of relevant work. ●Demonstrable, hands-on experience using online trade databases (especially Zauba) for research and analysis. ●In-depth knowledge of the Indian chemical or pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred. ●Familiarity with Indian corporate registration processes and documentation. ●Full professional fluency in written and spoken English. Fluency in at least one relevant Indian language (e.g., Hindi, Gujarati, Telugu) is required. ●Exceptional professionalism, high ethical standards, and a steadfast commitment to confidentiality. ●Ability to work independently with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. ●A strong understanding of operational security (OPSEC) practices, including the use of VPNs and encrypted communication tools.
