Simple program that imports a text file (or optional in .DBF) and finds, counts and removes records that contain duplicates in certain fields.
We have an article file in plain text in which every line is divided in fields with a fixed lenghth. We can import this article file in Excell or Dbase and cut every record into fields. For one field with the EAN number there may not be doubles in the rest of the file.
We currently sort the file on the record "EAN" with a numeric value of the EAN number and check the file manually if there are double records. We will probably have to do this a few times so we would like a software tool that can do it for us and report how many double EAN values the file contained.
I will attach a sample file as text and as a Database file (.dbf)
every record/line has a fixed lenghth and the position of the EAN number is the same in every record.
