We are representing a French IT company that works mainly in PC games development domain. Our goal here is to find a group of developers or a single developer, capable to work with this company on a project of an online game (like "Second Life" one). We will be only the intermediate between the company and the developers team. But our job is to find those developers that could done they job well. This is a very expensive project and in case the resulting collaboration will be considered as positive we will continue to work with these developers on other gaming projects too.
We do not need lower prices but a knowledge and quality. So the candidate must send us a following test done:
1. Please send to our mail-box here the short description of "Second-life"-like game architecture. It means that we want to know, what could be the architecture if it was you who need to create a game like that. We need to know what is your vision, and what technologies you are like to use on EVERY part of this project. Please be specific in what is related to data-processing and networking architecture (a short additional diagram would be good). You need only to create a word-document and to write down and send to us the following information.
… using … and it does … using MS SQL (just an example e.t.r.)
… using … and it does …
and so on
Main application using C++ (it is just an example, it could be any), and it interact with … using … e.t.r.
… using …
and so on
Something like that so we could understand the structure of the whole application.
(!) Requirements are that this game must be accessible throws mobile phones (GPRS) and clients applications must be only Windows or mobile, about mobile it is only a project but you vision will be considered.
It will permit us to understand whether you are familiar with this domain or not. The more detailed will be the answer the more chances are that you will be selected. You can use architecture of existing online games instead of elaborating your own. The most important is that we see that you understand CLEVERLY how it works.
