We are looking for a serious individual or team to develop a C++ application (running on Windows) that our customers will use to upload log files to our web server.
The application should have three features:
1. All logs that have never been uploaded should be uploaded when this part of the application runs. Consecutive runs should upload only new log entries. This means that the application needs to keep track of which entries have been uploaded. A progress bar should exist while uploading.
2. Log files are updated several times a minute. We want the updates to be sent to the server as soon as they are written to the file.
3. This is a simple merging program. Input is two files and they should be merged according to our specification. Folder names will be specified by the user and should be saved for the next time the application is executed.
We have a servlet on our web server which you will be communicating with - we will provide you with a protocol. A secure method needs to be developed to prevent unauthorized people to fake uploading of logs. The application needs to have install and uninstall functionality. The program should also have a suitable icon that can be used on the desktop and in the taskbar.
The source code should be included and needs to be of very high quality and should be well commented.
