Cisco SNMP Vulnerability Checking

Project Description:

The project is documenting and coding some Test Cases.

A Test Case is a piece of code that test for a specific vulnerability.

There are some Cisco Test Cases that need to be included in our product.

The list of the Cisco bug IDs that need to be included is detailed at the end of the description. There you will also find a link to the Cisco Advisories web Pages where you will find all required information to document and code theses Test Cases:

Other Nessus samples will be provided once contact is established.

The code is basic, and simply need to get a list of regular expressions updated into a sample code.

The Test Cases to be coded must simply go through 2 entries of the SNMP MIB of the remote Cisco device and then check for specific patterns that identify the vulnerable versions.

It will be provided a remote access to computers where you will be able to access sample code of all our current SNMP TestCases, input the documentation, write and compile code in Microsoft VC++ 6.0

A Linux script will also be provided to help to convert some regular expression to be compliant with the ones used into our software. That script might also work on Cygwin.

Requirements:

It is required that you have access to Cisco equipments so that you can effectively test the code generated. A Cisco CCO access will be highly appreciated but is not required.

You must sign a NDA (Non-disclosure Agreement) upon Acceptance.

Misuse of the Project Clarification board for Self-promotion will disqualify you.
