You are to write a prototype that connects the RakNet networking library (from [login to view URL] ) to the IrrLicht graphics library (from [login to view URL]).
Only the most basic functionality is required, specifically,
i) users must be able to connect to the server (no pw or pw checking needed, assume all connection attempts to the correct port are implicitly authorised),
ii) at which point a model figurine (say the one in the /examples/demo/[login to view URL] supplied with the IrrLicht lib) should spawn, and be visible to all those connected, if in their line of sight
iii) user must be able to control the avatar via mouse and kbd, and new position correctly updated over the network. No chat is necessary.
All code must correctly compile both on Linux (gcc) and Windows platforms (say CodeBlocks/gcc).
This project is mostly intended for me to be able to judge your programming competence and the quality of the code you output, so bear that in mind. If multiple providers are selected and complete the task, all will be paid.
Deliverables : [login to view URL] and client.cpp. Please put all your appropriate code in the single file, correspondingly. Do comment. Feel free to add a cover letter/cv/link to your personal page describing your overall competence with c/c++ programming, achievements etc. Acceptable applicants will be awarded further projects.
