130595 JPEG Image compression

Need a project that will compresss the JPEG Image so that it will occupy less number of bytes as compared to the original image. The code should have proper comments that will explain each and every line of the code. The project done in MATLAB will be preffered, however, otherwise it can be in any programming language like C / C++ / Java / or any other. The only requirement is that the project must use some matrices to produce the desired result. when we run the project, it must take a source Image in JPEG as input and after processing it gives an output in the form of Compressed Image that will occuply less number of bytes as compared to the original image. Both the input and the output images as well as the number of bytes occupied by them must be displayed on the output screen
