I currently have a program called Video Capture Pro. It captures video from a web cam or digital video camcorder directly to your computer. See how it works here...

What I want to do is update this application. It currently will not work with High Definition camcorders, unless I set the video to Standard DV. I want to be able to record in HD. Can this be done?
I also want to implement a preview video feature so the user can setup their shot prior to recording.
Plus, if you have ideas for improving this application.
This is a (Microsoft Foundation Class) MFC application.
Since the source was provided via a ZIP file, I have removed the VSS source control bindings from the original workspace.
Converted the workspace to a Visual Studio .NET 2005 solution.
The April 2005 Platform SDK was needed for DirectShow support.
Incremented the build numbering.
Changed the executable name to vcp.exe.
The biggest headache in getting it to compile was the elderly DirectShow conflicts with the Platform SDK headers. Once that was straightened out, the required strm*.lib libraries could be built and included.
Video Capture Filename, Format, and Default Location Controls
You may now specify the name of the file to save from the main dialog.
A default location for video files can be set.
The video capture format is set from the main dialog.
General Usability Improvements
Spell out the video formats a bit more clearly with the following format: "[width" px x [height] px [bit] bit color")
Expand out dialog inducing buttons (rather than "...")
Can you help?
