I need a custom installation of Postfix on Debian Linux. This might involve just a clever use of Postfix configuration files, or possibly some source code fixes. For each email that comes into Postfix, before the email is accepted (in addition to the various checks Postfix makes, I want to call out to my special program that examines the address and decides if it should be accepted. Postfix normally allows you to use a database lookup, instead I have a shell script that should be run each time.
(apologies to those who bid this before: I had no idea the site would cancel my project because I was slow)
I have a server setup with standard Postfix install for this project, accepting mail and working fine.
There is a shell script in /usr/sbin/check_recipient which will accept as arguments the recipient, the subject, and some body text; it will return a value indicating whether to accept, reject or discard the incoming message.
Milestone 1: access the provided server, setup environment, put Postfix in debug mode, outline the intended solution
Milestone 2: install the solution and demonstrate successful operation by differentiating incoming email while watching SMTP session.
