I am looking for a GUI-based graphical software application than sends telnet commands to servers.
the application will comprise of multiple windows, with each window representing an individual server. Within each window will be a number of buttons which you can click on. Each button you click on will send a specific telnet command to the device.
I will need a way of "mapping" specific commands to the buttons. I can see this being in the form of an editable file, whereby I list out the commands, and map them to the buttons.
To begin with accessing the servers, I would need to telnet to their ip address, and supply a user name and password. Once connected, I would then be presented with the buttons which would issue the commands.
Window 1/Button 1 = "show ip interface"
Window 1/Button 2 = "show version"
Window 1/Button 3 = "reboot"
Window 1/Button 4 = configure terminal"
The software also needs to associate an image with each server window. The software will "retrieve" the jpeg image associated with the server from a specific Web address. Again, I should be able to specify this path in an editable file.
Server 1 image = [url removed, login to view] (this image should be automatically refreshed every 3 seconds.
This image will be presented in the window alongside the buttons.
I will supply the layout expectations of the software, and additional information to the winning bidder. I prefer to work with individual coders, rather than outsourcers.
If you can make a very small basic demo to show this working, it would be favourable, and would increase your chances of being selected.
I would also like to be able to sell this software on my website, so would need a way of making the software require a username and serial key during the install process.
