So, I have this game I'm working on and it was built in 2003, the engine is quite old. It was written in gamebryo and is compiled using visual studio 2005. After [login to view URL] the windows 2010 anniversary update, a lot of games started experiencing FPS drops if they don't copy an old d3d9 to the game folder. I heard this can be solved by changing D3DCREATE_SOFTWARE_VERTEXPROCESSING to D3DCREATE_HARDWARE_VERTEXPROCESSING, but when I change this flag, the models in game disappear, or bugs up. What I need is someone with expertise in directx to look into this issue for me; I know some have fixed the same issue by doing this process and modifying some files in the device lib, so It shouldn't be so hard. I also have a similar game built by the same company, but this one has the fix already.
- it has to be done remotely through teamviewer or desk (the code is important and it's sized in 30 GB, so it can't be uploaded.
