PROJECT 1 (BUGGY) draft a outline for C code to make the buggy drive forwards. Add to the above program so that the bumper switches are read. If a bumper switch is press/hit then the buggy will reverse and turn the opposite way e.g. if the left bumper is hit it will reverse turn right and then continue driving forwards again. Consider how this can be added to in terms of functionality. How will reading of ADC channels (the LDR values) be incorporated so that line following can be achieved? *************************************************************************************** PROJECT 2 (BUGGY) draft a outline for C code to make the buggy follow a white line. Make use of the LDRs to do this. How can the ‘Top LDR’ help with changes in ambient light level? Consider how the buggy could be programmed to react to changes in shade of the white line, such that its speed would change accordingly. *************************************************************************************** PROJECT 3 (RODENT) Your aim for this laboratory is to have a game running on the hardware setup that behaves in the following way: – To start with a single LED is illuminated on the interface card, and this is then shifted to one extreme. Having reached this extreme it is then shifted in the opposite direction until the other extreme is reached. The loop is then repeated. This should give the effect of the illuminated LED moving backwards and forwards across the 8 LED’s of the interface card (see figure 2). Whilst the LED is ‘moving’, the game user is expected to try and hit the switch that corresponds to the illuminated LED. If the users guess is correct then the LED should then no longer be illuminated, and if this is the only LED that is currently illuminated then the game has been won and an appropriate message should be sent to the PC screen e.g. ‘Well done, you have won!’. – If the guess is wrong then the LED that corresponds to the wrongly pressed switch should now also be illuminated. The new bit pattern on the LED’s should be cycled across the LED’s as before, but an illuminated LED cannot disappear off either extreme of the LED’s. i.e. if the bit pattern is 00010100, then that bit pattern should be cycled left and right such that the extreme bit patterns would be 10100000 and 00000101. Every wrong guess should add another illuminated LED. Every correct guess should reduce the number of illuminated LED’s. You are required to write software in C that will run in Ubuntu 12.04 and satisfy the games rules.

Dear Sir/Ma'am First of all, Thank you for a detailed explanation of all 3 projects. A good explanation facilitates freelancers like us estimate time and efforts estimate more accurately Project 1. When bumper switches got pressed, we will use two LDR and rotate the buggy till a LDR crosses the line. After one LDR crosses line, we will resume continue moving forward Project 2. Similar way we can create a line following robot and speed variation using ADC Project 3. With experience in JAVA also, we can develop a small application to control interface board using UART
