I need a COMSOL Multiphysics model of a high-frequency transformer that couples the electromagnetic and thermal physics so I can focus on thermal stress impacts. The goal is to see exactly where mechanical strain develops inside the core, windings, and insulation as temperatures rise during high-frequency operation. You’ll start from the transformer’s geometric and material data (I’ll supply those) and build a 3-D electro-thermal study that includes frequency-dependent copper and core losses, convection or forced-air boundaries, and, ideally, a transient run that tracks hot-spot evolution. Once the temperature field is solved, the model should translate that field into the corresponding thermal-induced stresses so I can compare stress levels against material limits. Because I need the results ASAP (ideally in 1-2 weeks but flexible), I’m looking for someone already comfortable with the Electromagnetic Fields (mf), Heat Transfer (ht), and Solid Mechanics (solid) interfaces in COMSOL, and who can automate post-processing for temperature, von Mises stress, and safety factor plots. Deliverables: • COMSOL .mph file with all study steps and parametric sweeps • Short PDF summary (methodology, key plots, and interpretation) • Quick-read setup guide so I can rerun or tweak the study myself Hand-off of the first working version within a week would be ideal, with a brief revision window right after. If you have previous transformer or inductor thermal work in COMSOL, feel free to mention it when you reply.

I will develop a fully coupled COMSOL Multiphysics model of your high-frequency transformer integrating electromagnetic (mf), heat transfer (ht), and solid mechanics (solid) physics to capture electro-thermal-structural behavior. Starting from your provided geometry and material data, the model will include frequency-dependent copper and core losses, Joule heating, and realistic cooling conditions (natural or forced convection). A transient study will be implemented to track temperature rise and hotspot formation during operation. The resulting temperature field will be directly coupled into structural mechanics to evaluate thermal expansion, strain development, von Mises stress distribution, and safety factors across the core, windings, and insulation. Post-processing will be automated to extract key outputs such as hotspot evolution, stress concentration regions, and failure-risk zones. Deliverables include a fully functional COMSOL .mph file with study steps and parametric sweeps, a concise PDF report with methodology and key results, and a quick setup guide for easy reruns. A first working version will be delivered within one week with a short revision window for refinements.

I understand you need a 3D COMSOL Multiphysics model to simulate the electro-thermal behavior of a high-frequency transformer, specifically to pinpoint thermal stress impacts within the core, windings, and insulation. I have previously developed a similar coupled electro-thermal model for a motor stator, accurately predicting hot-spot formation and subsequent material degradation. My approach will involve building the 3D model in COMSOL using your provided geometric and material data. I will implement frequency-dependent AC/DC Module and Heat Transfer Module physics, incorporating realistic losses for copper and core materials. Boundary conditions for convection or forced air will be set up, and a transient study will track hot-spot evolution over time to analyze thermal stress. What is the desired frequency range for the high-frequency operation? Ready to start as soon as you confirm scope.

Hello, I'd be glad to build your 3D electro-thermal-structural transformer model, coupling Electromagnetic Fields (mf), Heat Transfer (ht), and Solid Mechanics (solid) to trace how rising temperature generates mechanical strain across the core, windings, and insulation. Why me? My three relevant COMSOL projects cover exactly this chain: an electro-optic modulator for high-frequency EM field resolution, a Rapid Thermal Processing study for transient temperature gradients, and a heat sink analysis translating temperature fields into thermal-mechanical stress and von Mises plots — the same workflow your project requires. For loss modeling, I'll use a Steinmetz approach for frequency-dependent core losses and skin/proximity-effect calculations for copper losses, ensuring the EM-to-thermal coupling reflects real operating conditions. I'll also set up automated parametric post-processing for temperature, von Mises stress, and safety factor — no manual rebuilding each time a parameter changes. Timeline: Working .mph file with full study steps and parametric sweeps, then final model, PDF summary, and setup guide within 4 days of receiving your geometry and material data. I am ready to get started immediately. Let's connect to discuss your exact geometry and material parameters.
