I need an end-to-end solution that lets me monitor and, when necessary, remotely control a set of environmental sensors that report temperature, humidity, and air-quality data. Here is the flow I am envisioning: the sensors push readings to the cloud (MQTT, HTTPS, or another lightweight protocol you prefer), the data is stored and processed, and a desktop application then visualises the live feed, keeps historical logs, and lets me define threshold-based actions. Key points I care about • Real-time monitoring and control is the primary goal—latency needs to be kept low and reconnect logic must be solid. • Sensors involved: temperature, humidity, and air quality. The system should be flexible enough to add more sensor types later without a rewrite. • Desktop side must run on Windows at minimum; cross-platform (Electron, .NET MAUI, or similar) would be a bonus. • Clean, intuitive UI with charts, trend lines, and colour-coded alerts. • Ability to push configuration commands back to the devices—for example, change sampling frequency or trigger a fan/ventilation relay if air quality drops below a set level. • Data should be persisted locally (SQLite or LiteDB is fine) and optionally mirrored to the cloud for remote access. Deliverables 1. Fully commented source code for both the firmware (if you supply sample sensor firmware), cloud or broker layer, and the desktop application. 2. Build/run instructions and an installable desktop package. 3. A short write-up describing how to extend the system with additional sensors or control actions. 4. Basic test data or a simulator so I can see the dashboard in action without hardware. Do you already have a preferred cloud provider or should I recommend one? Should the desktop app support multiple users or just a single admin?
