I'm looking for an experienced WordPress designer/developer to help launch the next phase of my membership website and redesign my public website to match. This is not a project from scratch. The membership site has already been redesigned and launched. I'm looking for someone who can improve, extend, and standardize the existing work while redesigning the public site to match. Project MUST be completed by September 7. Project Includes: - Improve and expand an existing membership site, including integrating and validating a custom outfit planner plugin created in Loveable and adding a gallery of outfit inspiration. - Redesign several pages on the public website with a focus on updating colors, fonts, spacing, photos, and the homepage. - Create reusable page layouts and templates - Ensure responsive/mobile-friendly design - Maintain a consistent design system (typography, spacing, colors, buttons, etc.) - Organize custom CSS and document customizations Required Experience: - WordPress - Gutenberg Block Editor - Custom CSS - Responsive design - Strong UI/UX skills Experience designing or developing membership, LMS, or online education websites is strongly preferred. Bonus if you've worked with WishList Member, Memberoni, or similar membership platforms/themes. I'm Looking For Someone Who: - Pays exceptional attention to detail - Thinks in systems, not just individual pages - Communicates fluently in English and proactively - Documents custom work - Makes thoughtful recommendations instead of simply following instructions - Meets deadlines My goal is to build a website that's easy to maintain, well documented, scalable, and consistent—not just visually attractive. To apply, please answer the following: 1. Tell me about a membership site (or online education site) you've worked on. What was your role, and what improvements did you make? 2. You inherit a WordPress site with inconsistent styling, custom CSS written by multiple developers, and little documentation. What would your approach be before making changes? 3. How do you keep a WordPress project maintainable for the next developer? 4. Share 2–3 WordPress projects that best demonstrate your design and development work. 5. Please don't send a generic proposal. I'm looking for someone who communicates well, thinks strategically, and takes pride in building clean, beautiful, maintainable websites.

Hi there, We understand you're looking to redesign your public website to match your recently launched membership site, focusing on consistency, responsiveness, and maintainability. You need someone experienced in WordPress, specifically with Gutenberg Block Editor and custom CSS, who can improve and extend the existing work while ensuring a consistent design system. At Webbook Studio, we have experience with membership and online education websites, including projects like a learning platform website for children using PHP, WordPress, and custom design. Our team is skilled in WordPress, custom CSS, responsive design, and strong UI/UX skills, which aligns well with your requirements. We prioritize attention to detail, proactive communication, and thoughtful recommendations. Before making changes to an inherited WordPress site with inconsistent styling and custom CSS, we would approach it by documenting the existing customizations, organizing the custom CSS, and planning a strategy to standardize the design system. To keep a WordPress project maintainable, we believe in clean coding, thorough documentation, and using version control systems. One question: Could you provide more details about the current state of your membership site and public website, such as any specific design or functionality elements you'd like to retain or improve upon? Feel free to message us to discuss the details! — Webbook Studio

With over a decade of experience in developing and designing websites, I have honed my skills to remain highly adaptable to any project demands, and I understand the importance of careful planning, especially when integrating complex features and navigating multiple styles of CSS. I've transitioned several membership-based sites, like the one you require, and have improved on functions, designs and grown their user bases exponentially. To tackle the scenario where custom CSS is executed by different developers, I'd embark on a thorough profiling. By documenting inconsistencies, standardizing variables and settings whilst eradicating redundancies ensure that your rebranded website remains coherent even under different adminstrators. This comes in handy during version updates or future stylistic alterations. Maintainability at every stage is key. With numerous WordPress projects under my belt, two which can be shared are e.g. a bilingual e-commerce platform for an international retailer & a web application for managing crypto transaction data with display metrics. These underscore my ability to skilfully deliver frontend

Hello, With years of experience in web design and development, especially within the WordPress realm, I am confident in my ability to meet your needs for your membership site and public website redesign. It sounds like you have a clear vision for the project, wanting to improve upon and continue what has been done previously. This is exactly where my expertise shines, as I love standardizing designs and maintaining consistency throughout websites. One great example of how I improved a membership site was when we redesigned the entire user interface to create a more intuitive experience for members. With my skills in responsive design and strong UI/UX knowledge, along with my understanding of Gutenberg Block Editor and Custom CSS, I was able to transform their website into a cohesive and modern platform. When it comes to inheriting a disjointed WordPress site like the one you described, I begin by conducting a thorough examination to gain an understanding of its structure before making any changes. This ensures that all customizations are preserved and that any inconsistencies are addressed. Additionally, I firmly believe in documentation - updating or creating clear records about any custom work done so future developers can easily manage the project going forward. In conclusion, I don't want to just deliver a visually appealing site but one that is scalable, maintainable and well-documented for easy management by future develope Thanks!

Hi — Elias here from Miami. I see you’re looking to redesign your website as part of a rebranding effort. This step is crucial for enhancing your brand's presence and user engagement. What usually matters most here is ensuring the new design resonates with your audience while maintaining functionality. A common issue in projects like this is balancing aesthetic changes with the need for a stable, user-friendly experience. The tricky part is integrating the new design with your existing content management system, especially if you have custom features. My approach involves assessing your current site to identify what to preserve and improve. I’d focus on creating a clean, responsive design that prioritizes usability and future scalability. Ensuring the site is easy to maintain will help you avoid headaches later. I’ve worked on similar WordPress projects where I managed both design and technical aspects, ensuring a smooth transition and user satisfaction. A few questions to better understand the scope: Q1 – Are there specific user roles and permissions you want in the new design? Q2 – What integrations with third-party services do you envision? Q3 – Do you have preferences for payment gateways or e-commerce functionality? Happy to discuss the details and suggest the best approach. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Good to see this project, I will integrate the Loveable outfit planner plugin into your membership site, add the outfit inspiration gallery, then redesign the public site pages to match your updated brand system (colors, typography, spacing, buttons). On a similar membership redesign, I audited all existing custom CSS first, consolidated it into documented classes, and that made every future update predictable. Questions: 1) Is the outfit planner plugin already embedded, or does it still need API validation work? 2) Are you using WishList Member or Memberoni for the membership layer? Share your staging access and I will review the current CSS state before our first call. Looking forward to potentially working together. Thanks, Kamran

I will focus on creating reusable page layouts and templates, ensuring a responsive and mobile-friendly design, and maintaining a consistent design system throughout. Regarding your questions: 1. I have worked on a membership site where I was responsible for redesigning the user interface and improving the user experience. My role involved implementing a new design system, optimizing the site for mobile devices, and enhancing the overall functionality. 2. My approach to inheriting a WordPress site with inconsistent styling would involve conducting a thorough audit of the existing CSS, documenting the current state, and then creating a unified style guide to standardize the design. 3. To keep a WordPress project maintainable for the next developer, I prioritize clear documentation, modular code, and adherence to best practices in both design and development. Happy to discuss the details.

Your brief is clear, and I like that you’re focused on maintainability, documentation, and design consistency rather than just a visual refresh. I can help standardize the current membership site work, redesign the public-facing pages to match, and create reusable layouts in Gutenberg so future updates stay clean and efficient. I also pay close attention to responsive behavior, spacing systems, button styles, and keeping custom CSS organized. This is the kind of WordPress work I enjoy because it needs both design judgment and structure.

Hi I understand you are looking for an experienced WordPress designer/developer to improve and extend an already-launched membership site, while redesigning your public website so both feel consistent with your new brand. I’m focused on practical, hands-on work that standardizes styling and page structure, not just redesigning individual screens. I work with WordPress using a systems-first approach: aligning UI/UX choices to a reusable design system, implementing layouts through Gutenberg blocks/templates, and keeping custom CSS organized so it’s predictable and easy to extend. I’ll structure changes so the membership experience and public marketing pages share the same typography, spacing, and component behavior. For your project, I would start by auditing the current membership and public designs, mapping gaps in the design system, and identifying where existing CSS/templates create inconsistency. Then I’d redesign the selected public pages using reusable block patterns and templates, followed by improvements to membership pages and any needed expansions. Throughout, I’ll clean up custom CSS and provide clear documentation so handoff stays smooth and future changes don’t reintroduce drift. Best, Justin

Given my strong skills in using Gutenberg Block Editor, responsive design and familiarity with custom CSS, I'll be able to efficiently improve and standardize your existing membership site while ensuring a smooth user experience on the public site. Hi, I’ve worked on similar WordPress membership and content-driven websites where the goal was improving an existing build, creating consistency, and making future updates easier. I understand that this project is about building a maintainable system, not just redesigning individual pages. A common challenge with existing WordPress sites is inherited styling conflicts and undocumented customizations. I’ll first audit the current theme, blocks, CSS, plugins, and page structure, then create reusable layouts, standardize design components, and organize custom code for long-term maintenance. I’ll deliver redesigned public pages, improved membership layouts, responsive optimization, documented customizations, and a cleaner WordPress structure that future developers can easily understand. Building reusable Gutenberg layouts is only half the job here; the bigger risk is letting inconsistent custom CSS and undocumented changes spread into the redesigned public site, making future maintenance even harder. I'd start by reviewing the existing membership site, identifying reusable patterns, and mapping the current typography, spacing, buttons, and other shared components before touching individual pages. In Gutenberg, I'd keep those patterns and templates consistent instead of solving the same layout multiple times, then organize the custom CSS so overrides are predictable and documented rather than scattered. As the public site is redesigned, I'd keep both sites aligned under the same design system so updates stay manageable instead of drifting apart again. One question that would affect the approach: is the membership site already using WishList Member, Memberoni, or another membership platform? That helps determine how much of the existing structure should be preserved versus extended. The goal should be a site that's straightforward for the next developer to understand, maintain, and build on—not just one that looks good on launch day.

Your membership site will break under load if the custom CSS isn't consolidated into a proper design system. Right now, you're likely dealing with specificity conflicts that'll make future updates a maintenance nightmare. Quick questions - are you using a child theme to isolate customizations, or is everything in the Customizer? And what's your current page load time on mobile? Here is the architectural approach: - GUTENBERG: Build reusable block patterns with ACF so your team can maintain pages without touching code - RESPONSIVE DESIGN: Implement CSS Grid layouts that adapt from 320px to 4K without media query bloat - DOCUMENTATION: Create a living style guide in Notion that maps every component to its CSS class and usage rules I've rebuilt 4 membership platforms (LearnDash, MemberPress, Restrict Content Pro) where inconsistent styling was killing conversion rates. Let's schedule a 30-minute technical walkthrough so I can audit your existing setup before proposing the refactor plan.

I worked on an online course site using LearnDash where I improved layout consistency and created reusable Gutenberg blocks to simplify page updates and keep branding uniform. My role included cleaning up messy custom CSS and documenting every change, which helped the client maintain their site easily afterward. If I inherited a WordPress site with inconsistent styling and scattered CSS, I would first catalog existing styles and identify conflicts. From there, I’d create a clear design system and consolidate CSS into a well-organized stylesheet with comments. This helps avoid duplication and makes future updates predictable. To keep a project maintainable, I rely on reusable block templates, consistent naming conventions, and thorough documentation of any custom code or design decisions. This sets a strong foundation for whoever maintains the site next. Could you share how many templates or page types you foresee redesigning on the public site? Also, is the membership platform currently integrated with specific plugins like WishList Member or Memberoni? I’m ready to dive in and help create a clean, scalable design system that matches your membership site and meets your September deadline.
