Social Networking B2B - Cold Fusion

Website Project

Concept:

To develop a business to business social networking website. With some inspiration from facebook. Industries will play a large role in this website, as every single person is from an industry (where they work example: Technology -> Web Design)

We Support Live:

Will provide the design and website foundations. (look and feel) – Also provide a test environment to work from.

Requirements:

ColdFusion 8 & MYSQL5 – Windows Based.

Documentation:

General: HTML and the look and feel of the website will be provided – Coder will be required to fill in the blanks and do some of the body of the HTML. All photos are examples and are subject to change.

We expect the code to be bug free and working.

Signup:

There will need to be 3 levels of signups. “People”, “Business”, “Non-Profit” account type can be selected from a drop down during the signup process.

Initial Signup Required Information:

• Unique Account Name

• First Name

• Last Name

• Email

• Password

• Province / State

• City

• Country

*Then it would send them an email activation letter. Once the account was activated they may login (email address = username, password = password)

Once they login – they can continue to update their user account information. (see appendix for more detailed info depending on account type)

User Account Area:

Each user will have an account area (like facebook) where they can “view” there friends and connections. Where they can view & send internal emails to their friends. They may also update their profile information at anytime.

Within their account they can view simple information like “220 friends are currently subscribed to you”

They can change their display photo at anytime. Signed in users will have the ability to add classified postings to “The market” , “News”, “Events” , and “VIP Benefits” to a specific province/state and City.

Note: All user accounts profiles should be able to access the same was as MySpace: [url removed, login to view]

I have code that will work for this in ColdFusion if you need it.

The user account area will have “news feeds” for each main topic “The Market”, “News”, “Events”, “VIP Benefits” – You will see in the documentation that there are tabs inside each persons account where they can click on those main links. When someone clicks on them – it will show (like a news feed) the corresponding info from all their friends (subscribers) so they can click on each of them, and go directly to the link.

Non-Profit Users Account Info after Signup:

*Very similar to Business user – Info coming soon.

Website Search:

We would like a website search to be as dynamic as possible without taking to much time to develop. Basically when someone does a search it just bring back any page results revolving around the search words. Looking for suggestions on this.

Free Users:

Users who come to the website and do not signup will have the ability to view the entire website, but cannot post in any of the categories. They cannot post in “The Market” or “News”, “Events” or “VIP Benefits” etc – they can only view the website.

Signed up members:

Will have the ability to view, and add postings to the classified parts of the website. T hey can add “advertisements” into “The Market”, “News”, “Events”, and “VIP Benefits”

Location:

The top right corner of every page there will be a location select box – this is where people can change the location they are currently viewing.

Example: If the location is in Toronto – they will only see “The Market” , “News”, “Events” , and “VIP Benefits” from specific areas.

We will provide a complete list of Countries, State/province and cities. May extend to more then just Canada / USA

Kijiji: This will work similar to [url removed, login to view] and how there classifieds work.

*Note: Think of “The Market”, “News”, “VIP Benefits” as classified ads based on location.

*Note: every classified type ad should track basic stats (how many people viewed it)

Posting on The Market (page):

Some Fields to include (UserID, CategoryID, Unique_Event_name, Province, City, Title, Brief Description, URL, Picture, Video (embedding code from like you tube), Message, datetime, status)

User will Select a Main Category, and then select a sub category from a drop down that is populated based on the main category. Each Main category has different sub categories.

Example: Main category of “Real Estate” will have sub categories of “Residential” , “Commercial”, For Rent” etc.

Add “The Market” ads need to be made accessible [url removed, login to view]

Viewing The Market (Page):

Only “The Market” items will be shown based on Location. If a user is signed in they can send that person a message and/or subscribe to them. If the users is not signed in they can only view the listing.

When viewing The Market, it is based on Location (which can be changed from the top right corner of every page). The Market will only show the listings from the corresponding location (city, province/state) . The 10 Top listings will be shown right off the bat, with all the main categories at the top of the page. User can select a Main category. Once the user selects a main category, all sub categories for that main category are listed. User can select a Sub category to view all the listings in that category.

Posting On VIP Benefits:

Some Fields to include (UserID, CategoryID, Unique_ViP_ Name, Province, City, Title, Breif Description, Start Date, End Date, URL, Photo, Video (embedding code from like you tube), Message, datetime, status.

User Select Main Category, and then the sub category drop down is populated based on the main category. Each Main category has different sub categories.

Example: Main category of “Real Estate” will have sub categories of “Residential” , “Commercial”, For Rent” etc.

*Only BUSINESS members (account type) can post in VIP Benefits.

Add “VIP Benefits” ads need to be made accessible [url removed, login to view]

Viewing “VIP Benefits”:

When viewing the VIP Benefits it will only show the ones based on location, and only ones that the “end Date” has not already passed. So select only the active ones.

When viewing VIP Benefits, it is based on Location. VIP Benefits will only show the listings from the corresponding location (city,provice/state) . The 10 Top listings will be shown right off the bat, with all the main categories at the top of the page. User can select a Main category. Once the user select a main category, all sub categories for that main category are listed. User can select a Sub category to view all the listings in that category.

Profile Page:

Every signed up user will have a public profile page. Basically where everyone else on the website can search and view each other’s profile.

The profile will have 4 tabs (pages) specific to each page. It will basically pull the database content and list it on each page. (Main, The Latest Word, Background, Feedback) This will just be a dump of information based on each user (that they typed into there account)

Each account profile needs to be accessed by : [url removed, login to view]

There will need to be an area in the “My Profile” page to view all my bookmarks, and delete/remove my bookmarks that I don’t want anymore.

There will need to be an area in the “my Profile” page to view all the people that I am subscribed to.

There will need to be an area in the My Profile pages to update my information which is a bit different depending on account type. This is more personal style info for people to see.

There will need to be an area in the My Profile pages to see my newsfeed which is an on-going list of everything that the people I have subscribed to are listings etc.

*This relates to a “basic facebook” profile page.

There will need to be an area for viewing all notifications – (like when someone subscribes to you) or when someone posts a comment on one of your postings. Etc

There will need to be an area where you can send messages to the people you subscribed to. Basic internal email system.

Events Page Viewing Page:

Right hand side:

• Attend Event – User will only be able to click this button if they are signed in, and they want to attend the event. This is like an RSVP.

• View Attendees – This will be a page with a list of display photos, and brief profile descriptions for everyone who is attending the event.

• Contact – This will open up the internal email system so a message can be sent to the event host – (sign-in) required

• Comment – This is like a public dialog – people who are signed in can post a comment (see photo Event Listings [url removed, login to view]

• Bookmark – a signed in user can click this and it saves the link to his profile so that he can go back at anytime and look at it.

• Report – This is a link that will send an email to the staff prompting them there is some bad content.

News Page Viewing Page:

*NOTE: There are no “Networks to Join” Everyone can view everything – but signed in users can bookmark events, news, etc.

The way “Subscribe” works: person A can subscribe to person B – and person A will receive all notifications of person B’s activities. Person B will not receive any notifications of activities of Person A until they subscribe back. Person B will be notified.

Subscribing is a one way street both ways. I can subscribe to someone and view there details, and they have the option weather to subscribe back.

Viewing Subscribers of another Person: When viewing the subscribers of another person you will only see the people who are subscribed to them.

The way bookmarks work: Only logged in people can “save a bookmark” of an events, news, VIP Benefit etc. This can later be viewed inside their profile. They will also be able to remove there bookmark inside their profile.

Forgot password: We will need a system to send people there passwords to there email when they have forgotten them.

Statistics / Analytics: We will need just a basic hit counter for each type of ad that is specific to each ad. So it will show how many people have viewed each of the ads.

Small Admin Section:

We need the ability as an admin to easily add Industries, Main Categories, Sub Categories and turn user account on/off/. We also would like the ability to turn Locations (city, and Provinces/States ) on/off and add new locations.
