Job Title: AV Technician / "Hot Seat" Operator for Courtroom Trial Support (Philadelphia) Job Type: One-time Gig / Contract Location: Philadelphia Common Pleas Court (Center City) Date: June 15 to June 17 Rate: $500 per day in court (7-8 hours per day) Project Overview: You must live in Philadelphia. I am seeking a detail-oriented Audio-Visual Technician to provide on-site technical support for a civil trial in the Philadelphia Common Pleas Court. The primary responsibility is to ensure the seamless operation of a laptop-to-projector setup for a PowerPoint presentation during courtroom proceedings. The courtroom dates are June 15 to June 17 in the Philly Common Pleas Courtroom. Responsibilities: • Setup & Calibration: Transport (if necessary), set up, and test a slide projector connected to a laptop computer. • Live Operation: Act as the "Hot Seat" operator, advancing slides and managing media transitions as directed during live testimony/arguments. • Troubleshooting: Ensure all connections (HDMI/VGA/Adapters) are secure and be prepared to troubleshoot any software or hardware glitches immediately. • Logistics: Coordinate with courtroom staff regarding power access and equipment placement. Requirements: • Proven Experience: Prior experience with AV setup and live PowerPoint presentation management is required. • Professionalism: This work takes place in a formal courtroom. The technician must wear professional business attire (suit or business casual) and strictly adhere to courtroom etiquette and security protocols. • Punctuality: Must be on-site at least 45–60 minutes prior to the session for setup and testing. • Technical Literacy: Fluency in Windows/PowerPoint and familiarity with various projector inputs/resolutions. Additional Information: Equipment, including a projector and laptop, will be provided on-site. However, freelancers with their own gear are preferred.
