The most likely failure point on a job like this is inadequate consideration of groundwater pressure acting on the tank walls when the tank is empty, and I will address this by calculating the external hydrostatic loads and ensuring the tank design can resist them without buckling or uplift, also incorporating provisions for a hydrostatic relief valve. What is the depth of the existing steel pit walls relative to the proposed tank base elevation.
