What I'm looking for are People, Companies, Events, Programs, and things working on societies problems. This can be an interview with someone you know or have heard of who helps in the community or someone who works in a government agency like social services (they don't get a lot of credit for what they do). This can also be an article spotlighting a company or organization that is doing some good.
What I'm not looking for are special interest stories like the ones on the news about the neighborhood lady who gets cats out of trees. The articles should focus on topics that show individuals and things having an impact, whether it be small or large, on society.
Writers will be asked to discover individuals or topics in their area, interview people for articles and take digital photos for the website. Don't worry though, the photos do not need to be professional. We are just looking for quick snapshots to go along with the articles, which should be the writer's main focus.
I'm going to copy and paste the guidelines I have for the site. Once you go over these we can discuss potential ideas you have for articles. Then I'll send over my waiver, that basically says you are letting me publish your articles and photos on my site, and you can begin.
I know this is a lot of information to look at, but it's just for this first time. I intend to commission more articles in the future and if everything goes well, and you are willing, would like to work with you again.
I would like the articles to be more than 500 words and less than 1,000. Generally, articles should be closer to 800 and 1,000 words for interviews.

Edits and Approval
Once I receive the article I determine whether it needs to be edited in anyway. If any changes need to be made to the article, I will send you an E-mail regarding the changes at which point you will need to decide if the changes are satisfactory. You can respond with an "approve" in the message box or with detailed reasons for rejecting the changes.
Once we get the article approved, I will complete the transaction with the payment.
