NO!!!!!!
In horror, she quickly slammed her locker, resting her palms against the cold metal, lowering her head, breathing deeply. It wasn't real, she kept telling herslf. It wasn't real. It wasn't real...
She felt a hand on her shoulder that quickly snapped her from her calming session. "Daphne?" The familiar voice came. "You okay?"
Looking to her oldest friend, Daphne smiled. "Yeah, Crystal, I'm fine." She almost pointed to the locker. "It's just..."
It wasn't real.
"Never mind. Let's get to class."
Bending down to tighten the laces on her tennis shoes, Daphne chuckled. Crystal was always there when she needed her--
But not now.
As Daphne stood up, she found herself utterly alone in the school hallway, as if Crystal had never been there.
