I'm creating a new project to avoid the Freelancer billing problem I mentioned in the other project. I think this work will probably take more than 5 hours but I don't know how much more. Let's start here and increase it as we go.
I am looking for a writer to help write a book about software development. I have implemented a unique management philosophy at my company that has proven quite successful. I believe other software development companies will find my work useful.
The problem is that I don't have time to actually write the book. I am looking for someone who can observe me, through audio recordings as well as instant message conversations, extract the principals that I work by, research to add support and expand on the principals, and write the book.
I believe this is a long-term engagement, although I can't make any promises as to total work required. I can see this easily being a 6-month project, I think 12-months is likely, and even 18-months isn't unreasonable. I need someone who is ready to commit for the long haul. We will start at 20 hours per week for a 45 day trial. If things go well, you can choose the number of hours you would like per week, between 20 and 40.
This project is a test to find the right writer. When you accept the project, I will upload two audio files with a total duration of under 5 minutes. These clips are a conversation I had with a colleague. Your task is to identify core principals from the conversation, distill and synthesize those principals into a concise explanation, and perform research to support the principals and expand on them. I am not setting any minimum or maximum number of words or number of sources but will state as a guideline that something around 1,000 words with 2-5 sources is in the right ballpark.
I will pay you an agreed upon hourly rate. For this first project, you must use Freelancer's time tracking software. If we continue working together, you will have to track your time using [url removed, login to view] (I will add you to my team project--there's no cost to you.)
I will be awarding this project to multiple individuals. Whoever completes this project with the best work will be engaged for the long term. If two or more individuals submit equivalent work, the lower hourly rate will win.
