Limited-Scope Middle District of Florida ("MDFL") Counsel Needed – Review AND File Existing Motion Package We are seeking an attorney already admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida (MDFL) for a very limited, one-time engagement. The client is a corporation that was one of the original debtors in a jointly administered Bankruptcy case that concluded more than nine (9) years ago. This matter involves what is, in practical terms, a comfort and vesting order concerning a defined category of residual music-related intellectual property rights. The case was fully administered and terminated more than nine (9) years ago. The Liquidating Trustee has been discharged for more than nine (9) years, the Liquidating Trust has been dissolved for more than nine (9) years, there is no trustee, no active dispute, no pending adversary proceeding, and no ongoing estate administration. This is simply an administrative corporate cleanup and comfort order filing. This is intentionally structured as a discrete, one-off assignment—NOT an ongoing representation. We are offering a fixed flat fee of $1,000 USD for this assignment given its overall brevity and straightforward nature. The motion package has already been fully prepared by in-house legal counsel and is intentionally concise. The pleadings are short, straightforward, and narrowly focused, allowing reviewing counsel to quickly understand the matter before concentrating on local practice, formatting, style, and procedural compliance. We are NOT seeking an attorney to develop legal strategy, perform extensive legal research, or redraft the substantive legal arguments. The legal theory and subject matter have already been developed. Rather, we are seeking an experienced MDFL practitioner to provide a local procedural review, make any stylistic, formatting, or local practice revisions they believe are appropriate, file the package through CM/ECF, obtain the requested orders, and conclude the engagement. The package presently consists of: • Motion to Reopen Case (We will pay the standard MDFL case reopening fee separate from the attorney compensation amount, of course) • Motion to Limit 14-Day Notice to only the Office of the United States Trustee • Proposed Order Granting Motion to Limit 14-Day Notice to only the Office of the United States Trustee • Proposed Order Granting Motion to Reopen (including abandonment and vesting relief) • Motion to Withdraw upon completion of the limited engagement (We just need an MDFL-admitted attorney on record during the very short course of this specific matter, which should only last fifteen (15) days from start to final completion) The engagement is limited to: • Reviewing the existing motion package. • Making any stylistic, formatting, procedural, or local practice revisions you believe are appropriate. • Filing the motion package through CM/ECF. • Completing the matter and withdrawing from the representation. We are NOT seeking substantive revisions to the legal theory or underlying subject matter. The objective is a local MDFL review for style, format, procedure, and filing compliance—not redevelopment of the legal position or strategy. Attorney Requirements: • Must already be admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida (MDFL). • Because of timing, we are seeking counsel who is already admitted to the MDFL. We are not interested in proceeding through pro hac vice admission with local sponsoring counsel, UNLESS you are already linked up with local sponsoring counsel. • Counsel may be located anywhere within the Middle District of Florida (MDFL), provided they are currently admitted and able to appear. To be clear, this is intended to be a single-purpose engagement with a defined beginning and end. We are NOT seeking a continuing retainer relationship, ongoing bankruptcy counsel, or an attorney to undertake extensive legal research or redevelopment of the motion package. We are simply seeking an MDFL-admitted attorney to review the existing work product, make any stylistic or procedural refinements they deem appropriate, submit the package through CM/ECF, obtain the requested orders, and conclude the engagement. This is a flat-fee compensation structure only. Since this is a straightforward one-time engagement that has already been prepared by in-house counsel, we will absolutely NOT consider any type of Retainer or similar type ongoing payment structure. Additional information and the complete draft motion package will be provided following execution of a brief confidentiality agreement.
