Hi Rob / Dominique,
Request for quote for the following.
We need to figure out which symbols have news. There is a website that we check for news manually, I can send you a username/password.
What has to be done is, webscrape to produce a list of symbols that has news since yesterday 4pm (market close).
In the search function there are three options: market, hours, and amount of items per page. The result is "Date ET" "Sym" "Company" "Price" "Type" "Headline".
This list of symbols needs to be output to an excelsheet. We want "Sym", "Date ET", and the hyperlink contained in "Headline" as column A,B,C.
There should be a separate process / button (if possible in excel) for each market, Canada and US, each producing results on a different sheet.
Some symbols interest us, others don't. As such, we need to filter. Because of this, we need a button which checks if the symbols are on a list on some other sheet that we fill with the symbols we are interested in (e.g. Canadalist or USlist). If a news item is not on that list on that sheet, it should be moved to another sheet called junk.
Also, if the news item has the word "Globe" as part of the headline, it's usually not important (low-level gossip). If news is not "Globe", and passes the filters, then we want to give it a colour, or make it bold-faced, or something like that, to make it stand out.
As time moves on, more news items come in. An update button would thus also be good, if not too complicated program-technically.
So, the way I see it, there are three buttons on an excelsheet if possible:
Pull-data (CA or US), update-data, filter-check/globe-check
Please quote for this, I've set it up for the minimum, let me know what you would do it for.
