When I hold a sales event, I sometimes provide discounts of a fixed dollar value. For example, I will agree to give a customer a $20 discount on a $498 item.
The way I handle it now is I have created a product item called Discount. So, during the transaction, I add it to the list of items and then manually enter in the discount value as a negative number. But I always have to calculate the pre-tax value with a calculator. Please see my attached receipt to show you how I make it work.
What I need is a way to add a discount to the ticket without having to manually calculate the pre-tax value because it takes too long.
