I can do cold and warm calls. I am a great extemporaneous speaker ( been on national syndicated am talk radio many times & co-hosted program last year) who keys in to a clients orientation quickly. I have sold many different things over the years and was an incredibly successful invest. bnkr/stock broker-top 1/10of 1% of a10,000 person national firm-all based on starting my job w/no contacts and using the phone to cold call. All I did was choose to fish in the right water(i.e., go where the money was likely to be). One of my past clients has a major hospital center named after him in B.H., CA and I actually spoke w Marlon Brando on the telephone once as well. He unfortunately did not become a investor/client.

I recently did tele sales where on the 1st cold call I had to attempt to get the person to agree to let me transfer them to a law firm. 1 coldcall 1 transfer 1 time- i get paid. Sometimes after they agreed the law firm would not answer the phone for 5-10 mins. Believe it or not, though indeed some hung up I kept most on the line by "chatting them up" as they say in GB, and some even thanked me and said it was "good talking to you." Truly as good a communicator & tele-sales person as I know myself to be-EVEN I was ASTOUNDED at that when it happened a few times. I would have thought that a 1 in a million shot. But then, I (a total non-golfer, duffer my whole life) hit two wholes in1 on a pitch and put course years ago. Yes they were under 140 yards each, but whatr the odds?
