Excel Data Cleaning & Organization

I have a collection of Excel workbooks that hold a mix of numerical fields and free-text notes. Before I can move forward with reporting and analysis, those sheets must be properly cleaned and organized. The job is entirely focused on that task—no data entry from scratch, just transforming what is already there. Here’s what the assignment looks like from my side: • I will send you the raw Excel files. Each file contains several tabs, some with formulas, others with plain rows of data. • Both numbers and text appear in the same columns in places. The goal is to separate, standardize, and re-format them so every column is consistent. • Duplicates, blank rows, stray characters, and obvious outliers need to be removed or flagged. • Simple validation rules (date formats, numeric precision, spell-check on key text columns) should be applied so the final sheets are ready for import into other tools. • Wherever you automate—Power Query, VBA, or formulas—leave the steps visible so I can audit and reuse the logic later. Deliverable: a clean, well-structured Excel file (or set of files) that mirrors the original layout but with all issues resolved, plus a short change log summarizing the transformations applied.
