Microsoft Access Developer – School Operations Database (Split Database, Forms, Reports, SQL Server Optional

Project Overview I need an experienced Microsoft Access developer to build a user-friendly database application for a childcare/early education organization. This project must be built in Microsoft Access (not a standalone Windows app or third-party tool). The solution should be easy for staff to use and easy for me to maintain (adding fields, reports, queries). If you cannot provide working Access files as deliverables (not just screenshots), please do not apply. Scope of Work 1. Architecture Split database design: Front End = Access (forms, reports, queries, navigation). Back End = Access ACCDB or SQL Server Express (preferred). DSN-less ODBC connections if SQL Server is used. 2. Core Modules Enrollment: child + guardian details, site/classroom, start/withdraw dates. Attendance: daily check-in/out, classroom ratios. Billing & Payments: tuition, vouchers/subsidy charges, payments, balances, AR aging. Vouchers/Subsidies: authorization dates, rates by age/effective date, reconciliation reports. Compliance: staff credentials and expirations, incident log. Reports: rosters, attendance by date, AR aging, voucher reconciliation, staff credential expirations. 3. Features Role-based navigation form (Admin vs. Staff). Data integrity: primary keys, foreign keys, enforced referential integrity, validation rules. Settings table (parent, children, sites, classrooms, rates, roles). Import/Export to Excel/CSV. Simple backup procedure (documented). Required Deliverables You must deliver working files, not just screenshots: Access front end (.ACCDB/.ACCDE) with all forms, queries, reports, and VBA code. Back end database file (.ACCDB or SQL Server .BAK). ER Diagram of tables/relationships. Sample data for testing. README/Admin Guide with: how to deploy the front end to users, how to back up and restore the back end, how to add/modify fields, forms, reports. Screenshots or demo videos alone will not be accepted as deliverables. Requirements for Developer Proven experience building real Access applications (please provide examples/screenshots). Strong understanding of split databases and multi-user environments. Ability to design clean, user-friendly forms and reports. Good communication and documentation skills. Must deliver source files (.ACCDB) — not just compiled front ends. Milestones Milestone 1: Deliver ERD + back end schema (with relationships, sample data). Milestone 2: Deliver forms and role-based navigation (front end linked to back end). Milestone 3: Deliver reports, admin guide, backup procedure, and final files.
