I have a spreadsheet (in either Excell or Mac's spreadsheet called Numbers) that has our entire customer list along with every product they purchased from us. Unfortunately, each purchase is a different row, meaning we have multiple rows for each client. I want each product purchased to be established as a different column, and all duplicate clients to be combined into one row that then indicates by the amount they paid for each product by listing this dollar amount in the column representing the item purchased.
For example, instead of this:
NAME ITEM PRICE
John Doe, Hawaii DVD, $24.95
John Doe, Italy DVD, 24.95
John Doe, Spain Series Box Set $74.95
The converted table would show:
NAME Hawaii DVD ITALY DVD Spain Series Set TOTAL
John Doe $24.95 $24.95 $74.95
I want this to be some sort of function that I can also re-run each month - as our eCommerce system's reporting tool is quite lame and can not do this.
This can be done in a spreadsheet, or in a free database as long as I can control it on my FTP server.
