Date Format Conversion Utility

All of the dates in my files must follow one uniform structure, so the task is to convert every existing date to a single, specific format I will provide at the start of the engagement. The current data set mixes several layouts, and I need a clean, repeatable way to standardise them. A concise Python or JavaScript script, a command-line tool, or another lightweight method is fine as long as it runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux without extra paid dependencies. The original content—text or CSV—must stay intact apart from the corrected date strings. Deliverables • Working code that scans each file and rewrites every recognised date into the target format. • Graceful handling of invalid or ambiguous dates (log them; don’t crash). • Sample input and output or unit tests that prove the conversion works. • A brief README explaining setup and usage. Clear, well-commented code and straightforward instructions will be valued highly.
