Understand the requirements of data modelling work to be done in detail. Arrive at the scope of work to be done, understand the expectations and challenges currently faced by the client and arrive at options to mitigate them. Provide a project plan with key tasks, sub-tasks and activities with deliverables and timelines. At a high level following questions need to be answered after discussion with the client: 1) What are the high level business processes/use cases? 2) Types of data sources involved in the system 3) What kind of transformations and business rules have to be applied 4) What is the frequency and volume of data flowing through the system 5) Do we need to address any data quality issues like data profiling, data cleansing etc. 6) How many high level entities would be there in the system 7) Who are the users of the system? How many users can we expect? Will views of the data vary by users? 8) What tools and version of tools are they looking at to be used in the project? 9) Will they have repositories with languages other than English? 10) Is installation, configuration of Hardware, software and licenses required to be considered as part of this bid? 11) What are the SDLC phases in scope - Analysis/Design/Build/Test/Training/Service Introduction etc. 12) Any security implementations required for this project to be considered as part of this bid
