Your audience decides the platform, and for influencers and creators I would not start with Amazon. Creators do not read on Kindle. They buy from a link in a bio. Gumroad or your own landing page keeps roughly 90% against Amazon's 70%, but the real difference is that you keep the buyer's email. On KDP, Amazon owns that customer and you never find out who bought your book. For a first title aimed at creators, that list is worth more to you than the royalty rate, because it is what makes the second book easy. Kindle still makes sense later, once there is an audience to point at it. On the influencer side I would rather buy a small number of genuine reads than shout-outs. A creator who quotes one line from your book sells copies. A sponsored post read off a script sells nothing and everyone watching can tell.
