I would keep the migration separated from the server so that it does not bloat the new server with old code. Then I will convert the Controllers to Dependency injectable services. Services will use repository pattern. Finaly, I do the UI upgrade. For this I will keep the styling as close to the original as possible. However, some key points on migration of UI needs checking. 1. Introduce WYSIWYG for content management. 2. Use passkey login as the normal login flow followed by good old username/password/cookieauth as fallback. 3. Unified file management system. Both public and behind RBAC. 4. To be discussed: Payment Implementation. To choose one from current or use popular 3rd party. Almost all the part of this migration is day to day work for me.
