An Integrated Telephonic/Networking Device

This device is a server with in built telephonic slots in it. So there is no need of connecting any external hardware to this device for it to be used for the purpose of EPABX. We would like to create the version 1.0 of this device with the following specifications.

The device would be a simple EPABX server at the core. So its just a PC or a workstation with a motherboard, RAM, Harddisk, Processor etc. At the second level, it will have an additional Control Board which will connect to the motherboard through the PCI slot. The control board should have 6 slots. Initial accommodation is for 3 GSM SIM Card slots, 2 PSTN slots and 1 PRI slot. Coming to the implementation of the control board, the requirement is as follows.

Each telephonic line is an analog signal. Typically in FCT, FXO and FXS devices, a processor is put up which takes up the analog signal and processes it and puts it on a network over SIP to interact with an Asterisk Server. But in our device, we just want a simple A/D conversion. We do not want any processing to be done at the Control Board level, but instead we want the complete data to be injected into the processor, where we can use the Higher processing power of the server to do the work for us.

So simply put, the Control Board will have 6 basic blocks. Each takes the input signal, and converts it into a form understandable by a computer (sort of A/D) and then we want a software in the server to receive this signal, process it and then forward it to Asterisk or any other EPABX software that would be preinstalled in the server. That way, the complete processing of the system is done by the server and the hardware complexity and costing would be as low as possible for us. Since the processing is done over a software, it would be even more beneficial for us, since it gives us flexibility to modify our system specifications or processing steps the way we find suitable to our evolving needs in the future.
