Hi I am an embedded systems engineer with over 12 years of experience. I have extensive experience designing reliable low voltage control circuits for pumps, alarms, industrial panels, and consumer grade products where noise, vibration, moisture, and simple field repair matter. For your bilge pump alarm I can prepare a cheap and easy to build circuit that senses the 24V pump/float switch activation, turns on the light and buzzer, and keeps the alarm latched until a manual reset is pressed. I will also consider marine conditions such as voltage spikes from the pump, contact bounce, wet environment, vibration, and clear wiring so it can be built without unnecessary complexity. I can provide a detailed circuit diagram, component values/ratings, and practical notes for installation and protection. A couple of quick details would help: should the light/buzzer also be 24V, and do you prefer relay based parts or solid state parts? Please contact me to discuss details.

Hi, I can design a reliable and cost-effective marine bilge alarm system, including the complete schematic, component selection, and PCB design with a strong focus on robustness in wet, high-vibration, and electrically noisy boat environments. The alarm latching logic is straightforward, but the key engineering challenge is ensuring reliable operation around a 24V/15A inductive pump while providing proper surge, reverse-polarity, and transient protection. Before proceeding, I would like to clarify whether the alarm should monitor the float switch signal or detect actual pump current, and what should happen if the reset button is pressed while the float switch remains active. I would also like to confirm whether you prefer a purely hardware-based design or if a microcontroller solution is acceptable. Based on your requirements, I can provide a complete schematic, PCB layout, BOM, manufacturing files, and detailed documentation for assembly. I have experience with digital control circuits, embedded systems, and industrial-grade electronics where reliability and fault tolerance are critical. I can start immediately and would be happy to discuss the requirements in more detail. Regards.

Hello, I am an electrical/electronics engineer with 15+ years of experience designing industrial, marine, and automotive electronic systems, including alarm, monitoring, and control circuits operating in harsh electrical environments. For your bilge pump alarm project, I can design a reliable and cost-effective solution that detects operation of the 24V/15A pump, activates a buzzer and warning lamp, and latches the alarm until a manual reset button is pressed. The design will ensure that once triggered, the alarm remains active regardless of subsequent float-switch activity until reset by the skipper. The circuit will be optimized for marine conditions, including vibration, moisture, electrical noise, inductive loads, and supply transients. My focus will be on simplicity, reliability, and low component count to keep manufacturing and maintenance costs low. Deliverables: • Full professional schematic • Detailed circuit operation description • Component selection and BOM • Protection and reliability recommendations • PCB design guidance if required I have extensive experience with analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, embedded systems, industrial controls, and marine electronics, allowing me to deliver a robust design suitable for real-world operation. I would be pleased to discuss the alarm specifications and begin immediately. Best regards, Hamza Electronics Engineer | Embedded Systems | Industrial & Marine Electronics

Hi, I am an Embedded and Electronics Design Engineer with 10+ years of experience developing industrial, automotive, and marine control systems. I have designed 50+ custom electronic products including alarm circuits, relay interfaces, 24V control systems, and fault-monitoring hardware operating in electrically noisy and harsh environments with high reliability requirements. Approach ✅ I will design a robust 24V alarm circuit that detects bilge-pump activation, latches the alarm output, and maintains audible and visual indication until a manual reset is performed. ✅ I will incorporate noise suppression, reverse-polarity protection, transient protection, and vibration-tolerant component selection suitable for marine installations and inductive pump loads. ✅ I will provide a complete schematic, component list, operating description, and low-cost build recommendations using readily available parts to simplify assembly and maintenance. Questions ✅ Is the bilge pump switched directly by the float switch, or is there an existing relay/contactor that can provide a clean monitoring signal? ✅ Do you require the alarm circuit to draw minimal standby current when the pump is inactive? ✅ Would you prefer a purely discrete-logic solution for simplicity, or is a small microcontroller-based design acceptable if it reduces component count and cost? Best, Yaroslav

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I've carefully reviewed your requirements and understand that the alarm must not simply indicate when the bilge pump is running—it must latch the warning and keep the skipper alerted until the issue has been acknowledged and manually reset. I have experience designing reliable industrial and marine control circuits where electrical noise, vibration, and harsh operating conditions must be considered from the start. My focus would be to create a simple, low-cost, and highly dependable design that is easy to build and maintain. I can provide: • Complete circuit design and schematic • Latching alarm logic with manual reset • 24V marine power protection recommendations • Buzzer and indicator light interface design • Component selection focused on cost and availability • Build notes and testing procedure • Suggestions for moisture and vibration resistance Proposed Milestones: Requirements review and architecture selection Schematic development Design review and refinements Final circuit package and documentation A few questions: Is the buzzer powered from the same 24V supply? Do you prefer a relay-based or solid-state design? Will the alarm enclosure already exist, or should component mounting be considered? I can deliver a practical, marine-ready design that prioritizes reliability, simplicity, and low build cost while ensuring the alarm cannot be ignored after a bilge event.

I have been designing embedded hardware for over a decade, and marine electronics are a familiar territory for me. I can take your boat project from a schematic through to a fully tested prototype that is ready for the water. My process covers the entire stack—circuit design, PCB layout, firmware, and enclosure considerations—so there are no handoffs or surprises later. I have shipped production hardware across industries, including a custom vending machine deployed at an airport and a coin-cell-powered sports tracker, both of which required the same attention to reliability under tough conditions. If you want a circuit that actually works when it is installed on a boat, let us talk specifics. I can move fast and deliver a board that is built to last.

I specialize in system design, programming, integration, and troubleshooting for industrial automation projects, including robust Embedded Systems alarms for marine bilge protection. PLC programming and configuration (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, etc.) can inform the same reliable latch/reset logic needed for your 24V, 15A pump signal. Design and implementation of control logic and HMI interfaces will translate here into a cheap, easy-to-build Circuit Design with light, buzzer, and manual reset behavior. Integration with sensors, actuators, and other industrial equipment includes float switches, pump activation detection, protected inputs, and stable outputs for wet, noisy movement. System testing, debugging, and optimization will cover Signal Processing considerations such as electrical noise, debounce, transient suppression, and fail-safe alarm latching. Should the alarm detect pump activation by monitoring the float-switch control line, the pump current draw, or both for redundancy? Documentation, including electrical schematics, PLC logic diagrams, and user manuals, will be provided as a clear circuit diagram and build notes. Hi, a schematic can be drawn-up for you to do this, based around just ONE COMPONENT, 35A rated (to latch buzzer / light, plus anything you may want to drive in the future). A Vishay part has been identified for around £5, and has 1.2kV rating, - 40°C to +150°C operation, and is AEC-Q101 (automotive) qualified. For this budget, I can provide a simple schematic for this THROUGH-HOLE part (plus a few passive components (Rs, Cs, CONNECTORS) needed for it). If you need a PCB drawn-up, please let me know. Best regards, Rich
