I need a custom control board built around the ESP32 for an upcoming IoT monitoring system. The hardware must accept four analog sensor inputs, provide a robust RS-485 port, drive a relay output, and convert 12 V down to 3.3 V with appropriate efficiency and protection (ESD clamps, reverse-polarity safeguards, etc.). Your job covers the complete board cycle—from schematic capture and part selection through to a clean, fabrication-ready layout. I typically work in KiCad and Altium, so either environment is fine as long as the final package is consistent and well-documented. Deliverables • Complete schematics • Optimised PCB layout (4-layer if you believe it is warranted) • Gerbers, drill files, and pick-and-place data • Detailed BOM with supplier links and alternates • Any design notes or calculations that will help during review and production To be considered, please point me to at least one previous ESP32 or comparable microcontroller board you have taken to production, highlight any industrial communication work (RS-485, Modbus, etc.), and give an honest estimate of turnaround time. Once this hardware milestone is complete, I’m planning firmware development and future revisions, so a solid result here can turn into steady follow-on work.

Hi I am an embedded systems engineer with over 16 years of experience in custom PCB design and production-ready IoT hardware. I have designed ESP32 and comparable STM32/AVR control boards with analog sensor front ends, relay outputs, RS-485/Modbus communication, and protected 12 V to 3.3 V power stages for industrial and monitoring products. For your board I can handle the full cycle: schematic, part selection, PCB layout in KiCad or Altium, manufacturing files, BOM with alternates, and review notes/calculations for the power, RS-485, protection, and analog input sections. I will keep the design practical for assembly and future revisions, including clear test points and documentation so firmware work can continue smoothly afterward. I can also support the firmware phase later if needed. I have taken ESP32 and industrial communication boards through prototype and production, but client production projects cannot be shared publicly; I can show relevant examples privately if required. A realistic turnaround for the complete hardware package is about 12 days, depending on final connector choices, enclosure/mechanical constraints, and whether isolation is required on RS-485. Please contact me to discuss details.

Whats the analog resolution are you looking at ? Inbuilt ADC is not enough for industrial sensors that has analog output. As you have mentioned it needs RS485 Modbus communication, so I am guessing they need precision analog sensing. So the power suppy section needs special care to address the noise requirement by the external ADC and signal shaping analog circuitry. Does it need any wireless connection or is it just you are comfortable with ESP32 ? I will share the final schematic before moving to layout design and after completion I will share the design files, Gerber files, 3D STEP file for the board design, BOM and CPL files needed for PCB and PCBA. Do you have any specific enclosure in mind ? Please share these details.

Hi, I’d be happy to help with this ESP32-based control board. I have experience designing custom MCU boards with power management, industrial interfaces, and mixed-signal I/O, including ESP32-class devices, RS-485/Modbus communication, relay control, and protected power-input stages. For this project, I can handle the complete hardware development cycle: schematic capture, component selection, PCB layout, DFM review, and manufacturing outputs. I’m comfortable working in both KiCad and Altium and can provide a fully documented design package including schematics, PCB files, Gerbers, drill files, pick-and-place data, BOM with alternates, and design notes. The design will include four analog inputs, a robust RS-485 interface with proper termination and protection, relay output circuitry, and an efficient 12V-to-3.3V supply with reverse-polarity and ESD protection. I’ll also review whether a 4-layer stack-up offers meaningful benefits for EMC, signal integrity, and power distribution. Estimated turnaround: 5–7 days for the first production-ready revision, depending on final requirements and connector selection. I’m interested in building a long-term collaboration and can also support firmware development and future hardware revisions after the initial board release.

Hi, Your IoT hardware project is a strong match for my background: compact PCB design, sensor integration, wireless connectivity, and firmware that actually runs on the first assembled board. Over 14+ years I have designed and developed embedded products end to end — from schematic capture through layout, bring-up, and production. Recent examples include KiOSK-IQ v1.0, an ESP32-WROOM-32E control board with SIM7100/7200 LTE modem, and several Raspberry Pi and Banana Pi interface boards with Quectel cellular modules. For your project I can handle: • Low-power, space-constrained PCB layout with clean power and ground design • Integration of MCUs (ESP32, STM32, PIC, AVR), sensors, camera modules, microSD, and wireless modules • Firmware development in embedded C/C++ — UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and USB • Manufacturing files ready for prototype and production runs I worked at READA PCB in Shenzhen in design and production management, so I design boards that assemble reliably — not just boards that look correct in CAD. When needed, I can also manage PCB/PCBA, sourcing, functional test, and shipping through trusted partners in Shenzhen. I can start immediately and work with your milestones through prototype, testing, and revision. Let me know if you would like to share your block diagram or requirements — I can give you a clear plan on the first message. Best regards, Ting

Hi, The biggest risk in this project is not creating the ESP32 control board itself—it is designing a reliable and production-ready hardware platform that combines accurate analog sensing, robust RS-485 communication, efficient power conversion, and proper protection circuitry while maintaining signal integrity and long-term field reliability. I have 30 years of experience in ESP32-based hardware development, PCB design, and embedded electronics for IoT and monitoring systems. I have designed custom boards using KiCad and Altium, including sensor interfaces, RS-485/Modbus communication, and production-ready embedded hardware. For this project, I would focus on: 1. Designing a robust ESP32-based architecture optimized for reliable IoT monitoring and control applications. 2. Designing a robust RS-485 interface with ESD protection and best practices for industrial communication reliability. 3. Developing an efficient 12V-to-3.3V power supply with reverse-polarity protection, surge protection, and thermal considerations. A couple of questions: 1. What type of analog sensors will be connected to the four input channels? 2. Are there any board size or enclosure constraints that should be considered during the layout phase? If you message me, I can outline the most practical hardware architecture, protection strategy, and PCB approach for a reliable production-ready ESP32 control board. Best regards, Prat PCB Must Innovations
