Animatronisches Doppel-Augen-Modul (ESP32-S3, 2x GC9A01 240x240 SPI Displays, Arduino_GFX_Library). Hardware: ESP32-S3 N16R8, MOSI=GPIO11, SCK=GPIO12, DC=GPIO10, RST=GPIO9 (geteilt), CS_L=GPIO5, CS_R=GPIO6. SPI 1–40MHz getestet.

As an accomplished Electrical Engineer specialized in firmware development and Embedded Systems, I bring 7+ years of professional experience to the table. Your project involving the ESP32-S3 boards beckons me since it aligns so perfectly with my expertise. Having understood and acknowledged the exhaustive list of procedures you've attempted for rectification, it's evident that something unique is amiss - likely at a deeply rooted level. Thankfully, my comprehensive understanding of Microcontrollers (including your chosen ESP32-S3), Firmware Development (with proficiency in C/C++ and RTOS implementation), and Hardware Design (specifically RF) make me an ideal fit for your project. Notably, I'm also experienced with Multi-Layer PCB Design which can help us troubleshoot if this turns out to be an unconventional hardware interference case like the GPIO Matrix conflict we perceive. However, before undertaking any physical changes, I'd recommend delving deeper into the software end as a primary approach. My extensive knowledge of SPI protocol and experience in low-level programming plus task handling could shed light on this seemingly unyielding issue. The surfeit of skills and experiences that I possess including hands-on debugging which enables me to traverse both hardware and software complexities to guarantee optimum performance makes me stand out from other candidates.

Hi, I am an embedded systems engineer with over 16 years of experience. I have extensive experience with ESP32/ESP32-S3 products, SPI display buses, Arduino_GFX/TFT drivers, and debugging exactly this kind of issue where the firmware looks correct but the bus/device selection behavior says otherwise. For this Doppel-Augen-Modul I would first review the last working firmware versus the changed version, then isolate CS/DC/RST timing and GPIO-matrix/SPI peripheral behavior with a minimal GC9A01 test sketch. If it can be solved in software, I will provide the corrected firmware and explain the actual cause. If the common wiring is creating an electrical or ESP32-S3 routing limitation, I will give a clear diagnosis and the best workaround possible without reworking the finished boards. A few useful details before starting: do you still have the firmware version that worked for 6 months, and can you share photos/schematic of the display wiring around CS, DC, RST and power? I can also support firmware cleanup or production-grade stabilization after the display issue is fixed. Please contact me to discuss details.

Hello, Your project is very interesting and matches my experience in STM32/ESP32 firmware, embedded systems, and hardware debugging. I have over 15 years of experience troubleshooting complex MCU, SPI, display, and PCB issues where software and hardware interact. Based on your description, I will systematically analyze the firmware and hardware to identify the root cause rather than applying trial-and-error fixes. I can investigate SPI communication, GPIO configuration, display initialization, timing, CS handling, ESP32-S3 peripheral behavior, and electrical interactions to determine whether the issue is software or hardware related. If a software solution is possible, I'll implement it. If the limitation is hardware, I'll provide the best workaround without requiring board redesign whenever possible. You'll receive documented findings, corrected firmware (if applicable), and clear recommendations to ensure both displays operate reliably. I communicate regularly, work methodically, and focus on delivering a permanent solution rather than a temporary workaround. I look forward to helping resolve this issue. ✋ Hallo!

Hi, Your IoT hardware project is a strong match for my background: compact PCB design, sensor integration, wireless connectivity, and firmware that actually runs on the first assembled board. Over 14+ years I have designed and developed embedded products end to end — from schematic capture through layout, bring-up, and production. Recent examples include KiOSK-IQ v1.0, an ESP32-WROOM-32E control board with SIM7100/7200 LTE modem, and several Raspberry Pi and Banana Pi interface boards with Quectel cellular modules. For your project I can handle: • Low-power, space-constrained PCB layout with clean power and ground design • Integration of MCUs (ESP32, STM32, PIC, AVR), sensors, camera modules, microSD, and wireless modules • Firmware development in embedded C/C++ — UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and USB • Manufacturing files ready for prototype and production runs I worked at READA PCB in Shenzhen in design and production management, so I design boards that assemble reliably — not just boards that look correct in CAD. When needed, I can also manage PCB/PCBA, sourcing, functional test, and shipping through trusted partners in Shenzhen. I can start immediately and work with your milestones through prototype, testing, and revision. Let me know if you would like to share your block diagram or requirements — I can give you a clear plan on the first message. Best regards, Ting

As a seasoned Electronics Engineer with over 8 years of experience, I can certainly empathize with the frustration when a piece of equipment doesn't work as it should. I've successfully tackled similar issues numerous times throughout my career and I'm confident in making a difference for your animated Eye Module. Having studied your exhaustive troubleshooting steps, including multiple software and hardware-based approaches, two points come to mind that have not been tested yet. First, exploring the possibility of an electrical/hardware issue like a GPIO-Matrix conflict on overlapping pins due to two SPI peripherals. Second, implementing fully separate buses with their own MOSI/SCK/DC-Pins minus any shared line except power/GND (requiring some rewiring but staying within reason).

Hi, I’ve worked with ESP32 projects, SPI peripherals, and low-level embedded debugging, and I believe this is more of a system-level issue than a graphics library problem. The fact that both displays mirror the right display even with raw bit-banging is a very useful clue, and it significantly narrows down the possible causes. My first step would be to review the firmware changes that introduced the problem and trace the complete initialization and GPIO configuration. From there, I'll verify the chip-select behavior, timing, and pin states to determine whether the issue is caused by firmware, the ESP32-S3 GPIO matrix, or an electrical interaction between the displays. Once the root cause is confirmed, I'll implement a reliable software fix whenever possible. If it turns out to be hardware-related, I'll recommend the least invasive workaround without requiring unnecessary rewiring. I focus on finding the actual cause rather than masking the symptoms, and I'll keep the code clean, documented, and easy to maintain. If you're interested, I'd be happy to take a look at your current project and start debugging right away. Best regards, Chaz

Ich verfüge über Erfahrung mit ESP32/ESP32-S3, Embedded-C, SPI-Displays, Arduino_GFX_Library sowie der Fehlersuche bei komplexen Embedded-Systemen und Hardware-/Firmware-Interaktionen. hi! there. i can debug your esp32 s3 dual gc9a01 display issue and determine whether it is firmware spi conflict or gpio matrix routing problem. one common issue is shared spi state or incorrect cs handling causing both displays to mirror output, i solve this by carefully isolating spi instances and validating low level signal control. another challenge is hidden hardware constraints on esp32 s3 pin mapping, which i handle through systematic signal tracing and optimized peripheral configuration without requiring full rewiring.

Thanks for project sharing and I can do it 1000% successfully. I am Kyle and I have extensive experience with ESP32-S3 firmware development SPI communication debugging and low level hardware diagnostics involving shared bus peripherals and display controllers. Based on your description I can investigate the interaction between the two GC9A01 displays and the Arduino_GFX_Library to determine whether this behavior originates from firmware SPI transaction handling GPIO matrix routing or an underlying electrical issue and provide a practical workaround without requiring board redesign if possible. Could you please share the current firmware source code especially the display initialization and rendering sections for both displays? Have you verified the logic levels of CS_L and CS_R with an oscilloscope or logic analyzer while both displays are connected and active?

Hi, I debug ESP32-S3 SPI bus conflicts and Arduino_GFX firmware issues. Your symptom — both displays mirroring the right display's content when connected together, but working perfectly in isolation — is a classic SPI CS line not being properly deasserted between transactions, likely a GPIO matrix conflict specific to ESP32-S3's internal SPI peripheral routing when two CS pins share the same bus object lifecycle. The fact that even raw bit-banging reproduced the issue points toward a hardware GPIO matrix interaction rather than a library bug. I'll analyse the firmware change that broke the behaviour, test SPI peripheral isolation with FSPI and HSPI on your exact pin mapping, and deliver either a working software fix or a fully documented hardware diagnosis with the best available workaround without rewiring. Can you share the firmware version that last worked and the specific change that triggered the regression?
