I have a KiCad schematic and board layout and now need a second set of expert eyes before sending it to fabrication at JLCPCB. The board carries two USB-C 5v 3a power passthrough channels that can be switched on or off by two TPS22965DSGR, plus a temperature sensor for basic thermal monitoring. Everything (may) currently be mapped to “basic” JLCPCB parts where possible to keep the BOM cost-effective. I’d like confirmation that each footprint matches the part number, no extended-library components slipped in, and that any obvious layout or signal-integrity improvements are flagged or replace components with "basic" JLCPCB component's if needed. I have attached my Kicad 10 project in zip format. Feel free to check it out and see if its something you know you can go from 0 to 100% without any issues. I will be creating the boards right after confirmation of all parts and layout so make sure you know its going to work since i wont be able to test it out prior to sending it to get made and populated. Deliverables 1. A short written report PDF listing any issues found, why they matter and suggested fixes. 2. Mark-ups on the KiCad schematic and/or PCB file showing exact locations of the problems. 3. An updated BOM if you recommend part substitutions that keep us in the Standard tier.

Hi! Thank you fro inviting me to this project. I checked the project where schematic is completed but PCB is yet to be completed. I went through the schematic as i have worked quite alot with esp 32 and i have found one issue with your USB connection. The direct USB connections to esp 32 is not swapped, they are differential and must be connected like D+ to D+ and D- to D-. I can check each and every component against the datasheet in details for correct operation as well as route the components on PCB. Thanks Regards

Hi, this type of pre-production KiCad review is exactly the kind of work I regularly handle before boards go to JLCPCB assembly, especially compact USB-C power and embedded-control designs where a small oversight can become an expensive fabrication issue. I have 10+ years of PCB design and DFM experience and completed 120+ production-ready board reviews involving USB power routing, load-switch circuits, thermal validation, JLCPCB assembly optimization, and footprint/BOM verification. Approach ✅ I will perform a full schematic and PCB audit covering footprint-to-part validation, USB-C 5V/3A routing integrity, TPS22965 implementation, thermal considerations, grounding, copper width, and assembly constraints for JLCPCB. ✅ I will verify every BOM item against JLCPCB Basic/Standard library availability, identify any hidden extended parts, and recommend compatible substitutions where cost or availability can be improved. ✅ I will provide annotated markups directly on the KiCad design files, along with a concise PDF report describing each issue, its impact, and the exact corrective action required before fabrication. Questions ✅ Are both USB-C channels intended for pure 5V passthrough only, or is any USB data/CC negotiation functionality also expected? ✅ Which copper weight and board stack-up are planned for handling the sustained 3A current paths? ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Your project is exactly the kind where a proper design review can save a very expensive “first board lesson.” Since you’re going straight to fabrication and assembly without an intermediate prototype stage, the important part is verifying manufacturability, footprint correctness, JLCPCB library compatibility, USB-C power-path behavior, thermal considerations, and potential assembly/routing issues before release. I’m very comfortable reviewing KiCad projects intended for JLCPCB production, including BOM validation against Basic/Standard parts, footprint verification, power routing analysis, and practical DFM checks. I can go through both the schematic and layout carefully rather than just running automated checks. I will review: • TPS22965DSGR implementation and load-switch routing • USB-C 5V/3A trace widths and connector pin mapping • Footprint-to-part-number consistency • JLCPCB Basic vs Extended library usage • Thermal sensor integration and placement • Grounding, return paths, and copper balancing • Assembly risks, polarity issues, and manufacturability concerns A few quick questions: Target copper weight (1oz or higher)? Any ESD protection already implemented on USB-C lines? Are both USB-C channels independently switchable under load? I’d be happy to review the KiCad package and give you a fabrication-confidence assessment before you place the JLC order.

Dear Client, The biggest risk in this project is not creating the schematic or routing the PCB. It is sending the design to fabrication with unnoticed footprint mismatches, incorrect JLCPCB part mappings, weak USB-C implementation details, or layout issues that only appear after assembly. That is where a detailed pre-manufacturing review becomes critical. I can help you fully validate your KiCad 10 schematic and PCB layout before fabrication so you can move to JLCPCB with confidence instead of risking costly board revisions. I would approach this by: 1. reviewing the complete KiCad project, including schematic, PCB layout, footprints, BOM, and JLCPCB part mappings to identify footprint mismatches, incorrect symbols, assembly risks, and non-basic components 2. checking the USB-C 5V/3A passthrough implementation, TPS22965DSGR switching layout, thermal considerations, trace sizing, grounding, and signal integrity to catch issues before manufacturing One key question: Do you want only review/commenting, or should I directly apply all approved corrections inside the KiCad project files as well? Message me and I’ll help ensure the design is truly fabrication-ready before you commit to assembly and production. Best regards, Prat PCB Must Innovations
