I need to refresh an existing KiCad project by updating the schematic and then reflecting those changes on the PCB. The primary task is to add and remove several connectors and headers that have changed in the latest revision of the product. No other component classes are affected, and the board outline will stay exactly as it is, so you can focus entirely on the schematic edits and the related footprint swaps. Once the schematic is corrected I’ll need the PCB file brought back into sync—just enough to keep the net-list valid and DRC-clean. All routing outside the affected connectors can remain untouched; I only care that the new pins line up correctly, the ERC passes, and the board still meets KiCad DRC rules. Deliverables • Updated KiCad schematic (.kicad_sch) showing the new connector and header lineup • Synchronized PCB layout (.kicad_pcb) with footprints placed and connected for those changes • A brief change log so I can see what was added or removed before I commit the files to version control Please work in KiCad (the project’s current version) and keep all file names and project settings as they are now. If anything is unclear, let me know and I’ll supply the existing design files right away.

Hi I am an embedded systems engineer with over 16 years of experience in schematic capture, PCB layout updates, and taking consumer grade electronic products from revision changes through production files. I have extensive experience with KiCad projects where the job is not a full redesign, but careful controlled edits such as connector/header changes, footprint swaps, netlist cleanup, and keeping existing routing and board constraints intact. For this project I can update the schematic to match the new connector lineup, synchronize the PCB without disturbing unrelated placement/routing, verify the affected nets, and run ERC/DRC so the files are clean before you commit them. I will also provide a short change log showing exactly what was added, removed, or replaced. Please share the existing KiCad project, the KiCad version, and the new connector/header part numbers or pinout notes. If any replacement footprint has mechanical constraints, I can check that as well so the pins and alignment are correct. Please contact me to discuss details.

Hi, The biggest risk in this project is not updating the connectors themselves—it is ensuring that the schematic and PCB remain fully synchronized while preserving the existing layout integrity, net connectivity, and DRC compliance after the revision. I have 30 years of experience in KiCad schematic capture, PCB layout updates, connector revisions, and ECO-based hardware modifications for production designs. I have worked on multiple projects involving schematic changes, footprint replacements, and PCB synchronization while minimizing impact on existing routing. For this project, I would focus on: 1. Reviewing the existing KiCad project and identifying all connector and header changes. 2. Updating the schematic while preserving naming conventions and project settings. 3. Synchronizing the PCB with the revised schematic and applying the required footprint updates. 4. Verifying pin assignments, net connectivity, and connector orientation. The goal is to deliver an updated KiCad project that is fully synchronized, DRC-clean, and ready for the next revision without disturbing the existing board design. A couple of questions: 1. Which version of KiCad is the project currently using? 2. Will any of the connector changes require footprint modifications or only schematic updates? If you message me, I can quickly review the files and provide the fastest path to completing the schematic and PCB revision. Best regards, Prat PCB Must Innovations

Hi, Your project is very interesting, and I’d be glad to help bring it to life. I recently completed a similar KiCad revision project where I updated connector/header changes in the schematic and synchronized the PCB while preserving the existing board outline, routing, and project settings. That work required careful handling of netlist updates, footprint swaps, ERC/DRC cleanup, and version-control-friendly changes, which is very similar to your project. For your project, I will: * Update the KiCad schematic with the revised connector and header lineup. * Sync the PCB layout with the schematic changes. * Place and connect the affected footprints while keeping unrelated routing untouched. * Run ERC/DRC checks and prepare a clear change log. Deliverables will include: * Updated .kicad_sch file. * Updated .kicad_pcb file. * Brief change log of added/removed connectors and layout changes. Timeline: 1–3 days Preferred tools: KiCad I also have experience with PCB revision cleanup, footprint management, manufacturing checks, and design review if needed. Best regards, Alexsander

Hi there, I understand you need a focused KiCad revision—updating the schematic and PCB only for changed connectors/headers, while keeping the rest of the board untouched and production-stable. I can handle this cleanly in KiCad by: Updating the schematic with the new connector/header changes Running ERC to ensure no broken nets or inconsistencies Syncing the PCB via updated netlist / “Update PCB from Schematic” Swapping/placing only the affected footprints without disturbing existing routing Ensuring DRC passes with no mechanical or electrical conflicts Since the board outline and existing routing stay fixed, I’ll be careful to only touch what’s required and preserve everything else exactly as-is. Deliverables will include: Updated .kicad_sch Updated .kicad_pcb with minimal impact changes Short change log listing all added/removed connectors and net updates Once you share the current project files and KiCad version, I can start immediately.

Hello, I carefully reviewed your requirements, and I understand that the goal is to update the existing KiCad project while preserving the integrity of the current design. Since the board outline and the rest of the circuitry remain unchanged, my focus will be on making the connector and header modifications cleanly without disturbing unaffected sections of the PCB. I will first update the schematic, verify that all new connectors and headers are correctly defined, and ensure the ERC is clean. Once the schematic is finalized, I'll synchronize the PCB, update the affected footprints, reconnect only the modified nets, and verify that the layout passes KiCad's DRC without impacting the existing routing. Before delivery, I will perform a final review to confirm the schematic and PCB remain fully synchronized and provide a concise change log describing every connector and header that was added, removed, or modified. I am ready to start as soon as you share the current KiCad project and look forward to helping you complete this revision quickly and reliably. Best regards.
